"Beautiful Resort"

"I loved the food at the Don Rafael buffet. The staff at this resort were amazing and friendly. The entertainment was great, I just wish there had been more nights like the salsa dancing night rather than American-ized music most nights, but I understand they probably get more crowd engagement with American music. "

"Mahekal is a very nice property directly on the beach and convenient to Playa del Carmen. One of the restaurants was closed (possibly due to lower off-season tourism), but it’s higher-end Fuego restaurant was excellent! The property is quiet unless your room is near the Las Olas restaurant, which plays music starting at 7:00 am. This was the only disappointment during our stay."

"Liked staff were friendly and willing to help you if you needed any assistance. 2 formal sitdown resturants have excellent food and 1 average buffet could have some upgraded features. Maybe 1 more formal restaurant should be added for better availability because you can't always get a reservaton on 1st try. Outdoor grills are great with excellent food. Room service except for our last moring was slow to deliver told 40 to 45 min but mostly took 1 hour to 1 1/2 hr. Food was cold but thank...

"The property is very clean and the staff is very friendly. The beach is amazing with the ability to walk quite far on a shoreline. When you get to the hotel, make sure to make dinner reservation for their evening restaurants because they are amazing. We really liked the Asian and Mediterranean ones. Rooms get cleaned twice a day which is nice. One thing we didn't like was a buffet with small food options and it's the same every day. I wish we were told that we could eat at the restaurants...

Thank you Veni (so helpful at the beach) Julio, Hector, David, Bryan and Elias the life guard! There is also the young man who helps at the beach with the umbrella.. thank you all for making our stay memorable! Rooms were super clean too! And the pool is better than the beach!! Best hotel we ve ever been, mainly because of the wonderful people working there!"
