The rooms are spacious and very clean. The staff was very nice and accommodating. I would definitely stay here again. I loved the rooftop pool and bar. The only issue was getting a table or lounge chairs if you come in the afternoon. The hotel has reserved lounge beds that were never used! I don’t know why they have to reserve each one when no one ever used it while I was there. I went a few days and these “reserved” beds were never used.

I stayed here for a friend’s birthday weekend. The property is beautiful, the staff is friendly & accommodating and the variety of food available is nice. You can also pay a small fee to have access to two sister properties that have beach access if the rooftop pool isn’t enough for you. I’d definitely recommend this place if you’re looking for a low key relaxing vacation. Partying is available if you want it but it doesn’t smack you in the face.

My room was beautiful and it was above a Jamaican restaurant where they were playing good music and partying in the streets. I could look over my balcony and see it. Some nights I join in the partying in the street. The only complaint I have is the water in the shower was luke warm. I couldn’t get a hot shower but otherwise It a beautiful and clean hotel. The beach was a 5min walk from the hotel and they have two other properties I visited. They were amazing as well and those property were on the beach. You can actually walk 15 minutes to their CoCo Beach Resort. The staff were so amazing, courteous, and welcoming there too. I would recommend this property and visit this property again.

The BEST part of this trip are the workers!! You will fall in love with them! They are all so attentive, loving, kind and very helpful! My hubby and I always thoroughly enjoy our stay when we go. Drinks and food are always delicious. The coffee is amazing! Thanks to Brenda, Micaela, Israel(My guy), Roxana(My coffee girl) and all the staff on the rooftop! Francisco, my rooftop guy!!!! Please forgive me if I forgot some names. You are ALL fantastic!!! The rooms are clean and spacious and Wi-fi is great! Can't wait to see everyone next yr!!! :)

I really enjoyed my stay here. I've probably been to 20 all-inclusive resorts throughout the Caribbean, and I would say that when you factor in cost, location, amenities, and service, I would rate this one amongst the best. Food and drink w re good, but the standout was the staff. Francisco and Jamie were standouts! The only downside to be aware of is that you are not on the beach; it’s very close, about a 3-minute walk, but it's a public beach; therefore, you will need to rent chairs and an umbrella at an additional cost. Alternatively, you can pay $15 USD and go to the sister property that has a beachfront. I would definitely stay here again and would recommend it if you are going to Playa del Carmen.

We enjoyed our stay at the Reef 28! Everything was very clean and the staff was friendly. Our only complaint was the “all-inclusive meal option “ stay is not really all-inclusive, since you have to reserve Dinner time before 5pm. If you are out doing activities, you may not have chance to eat dinner if you forgot to reserve, which for us makes it a deal breaker for a next time. In addition, most of the tasty menu items are add-ons and not included in the meals. Overall, it’s a good, quiet location to stay and relax.

We had such a great experience at Reef 28! We were only in Playa del Carmen for a few hours and decided to stay here so we wouldn’t have to make the drive back to our hotel, and we’re so glad we did. From the moment we arrived, the staff was incredibly welcoming and made us feel right at home. Our room was beautiful, modern, and very clean. We especially enjoyed spending time at the rooftop pool—it was the perfect place to relax and enjoy the atmosphere. The location is also fantastic, within walking distance of several beach clubs, restaurants, and everything Playa del Carmen has to offer. Even though our stay was short, it definitely left an impression. My husband and I both agreed that we would absolutely stay at Reef 28 again, and next time we’d love to stay much longer!

Nice adult only property. They have sister properties you can visit for $15/day with meals and amenities included. We did the spa at reef 28 and it was so amazing. Food was an 8/10. The pool area has “small bites” but good options. I recommend the tuna tostadas. Enjoyed my experience and the location. Not not the typical resort. Out the front door you’re mingling with all the locals. Plenty shopping in the area. I loved not being tied to the property that you’d normally be at a resort. Recommended for anyone looking to travel to playa del Carmen. Also if you have the time, go to coco bongo. Amazing show we left very entertained.

Great hotel, everything was amazing and great location. The only complaint is that the pool was closed for renovations and the rooftop was disorganized but nowhere was that ever mentioned nor advertised which was very disapointing!

The reef 28 was an excellent choice to stay in Playa De Carmen. The only drawback we had Pool access was under construction, but there accommodating by upgrading us to breakfast at the Hotel. We enjoy the amenities at the hotel and the walking distance to Quinta Avenida to all shops and restaurants. We will be traveling back again later this year in 2026..! Viva Mexico 🇲🇽
