"Loved the resort everything was great food was excellent . More of a family resort less rowdy parties. I enjoyed my stay but one thing pissed me off is when they tried to give me gift but really it was them trying to sell me a membership to come back as premium guest it’s so annoying why can’t these people be happy that we are spending our time and money there at the moment . Overall 9/10"

"Love all secrets but this one I’d say is particularly for couples. I came here with my mom for Mother’s Day and it was still a great time, not as much of a party or social networking scene as everyone was with their partner. However, the activities were plentiful and fun! I did experience a little incident at the swim up pool in which I couldn’t tell if they were simply understaffed, or if the bartender was being selective… (I chose to let that slide but later heard a similar situation from my mom in which we are women of color so it was something to note..). Considering we were preferred club members, we opted to get premium drinks from the lounge the remainder of the trip to avoid any similar experiences like such. Outside of that, and all and all, I really did enjoy our stay here at Secrets Maroma Beach. The beach was beautiful and the food was also great. I wasn’t too crazy about the Italian restaurant, however I enjoyed the outside grill by the pool, as well as the buffet. Room service was also pretty decent."

"Unfortunately my room (Premium Swim up) near the reception and restaurants is right by the ocean and at this time of year the seaweed is absolutely out of control and the smell from the beach made me physically sick. The stench is similar to rotting eggs. The hotel were very understanding and offered to move me to another part of the building further away from the reception. Just a reminder that this is out of the control of the resort but be mindful when booking to make sure you are not near the reception. The hotel is well maintained and overall if not for the stench of seaweed would have been a lovely weekend away. The room service was slow and the food delivered was average. Drinks were good. I would recommend dinner at the Italian restaurant as the food was really nice."

"I loved how much there was to do at this resort. Truly was something to do for all ages. However I will say, don’t believe the reviews saying this is a small resort! Be prepared to walk! We weren’t expecting this place to have so many different activities, pools, buildings, shops, etc. A tip for the resort, advertise more of your pools, beaches, buildings. We were blown away by what we continued to find through out our stay. I think the resort would get even more buisness if mote pictures of the place were taken. Our one complaint would have to be on the food. This resort was so awesome but I think the food could be better. We definitely left full every night but the whole week we felt like we would just eat the same foods over and over again. But no one got sick from the food! Secondly I really wish we were given the option to bring our leftovers to our room to eat later. We wasted soo much food because they wouldn’t give us boxes"

"The hotel was lovely my problem here is with Expedia. As a platinum member I was given NO reason why I was moved from my original hotel, I feel I was downgraded. Expedia has yet to apologize or explain the reasoning. I was booked in a suite in the family area of Hotel Xcaret Mexico, I was told by Expedia I was in the upgraded adult area, this was not the fact. My original property was a 5 star all adult resort. I HAD to upgrade my stay which cost me $2000 additional dollars to be in the adult upgraded casa at Hotel Xcaret Mexico. Expedia this is unacceptable. If you want an adult resort vacation this property is NOT for you. Expedia should have relocated me to their other 2 all Adult resort locations.."
