Location and Scuba Diving. Hotel Barracuda is located a few minutes walk to Punta Langosta . Plenty of restaurants and shops to see. Across the street from Mega (think Costco) and a few blocks from Chedraui (also like Costco). Dive shop on property-Scuba Juan - is an excellent dive shop. Dive guides and boat captains very good. Miguel in the shop can set you up with diving and any equipment needed. Over Juan is on site supervising activities. West facing hotel allows for beautiful sunsets. Swimming pool on premises. Direct access to the ocean. Hotel has its boat dock. One downside is the music blaring from the bar downstairs from 8 am to 10 pm, everyday except Sunday. Yes, we clocked when the music started.

If you're looking for cheap beach front with walking distance to the city centre, and don't care too much about noise, cleanliness and very basic accommodation, this is the place. Nice bar which is busy during the afternoons when cruiseships are around. Rooms have aircon and a fridge.

Not very friendly staff in the lobby, experienced about 6 days of it…they act like you’re bothering them if you ask anything. The pool and ocean front was nice but would not stay again due to the pool music and night club sounds coming from somewhere nearby all the way until 3am. Very basic and budget friendly but at our cost of peace. The location and convenience of everything close by was nice. Good dive resort on sight was great.

Very dated hotel, burned, stained sheets, also towels stained (had to exchange them). Got handed the TV and AC remote controls at checkin. Dirty corners everywhere. Didn't expect much, but cleanliness is basic. It was like going back 40 years in time. The cabanas area lovely. Location amazing. The "No Name" beach club on site, fantastic, but not part of the hotel.

The view of the ocean was worth the cost of the hotel for sure, and everything was clean. The tv however was tiny and unusable, and there was no internet in the room which was quite inconvenient. They charged an extra $30 cash for island tax, and charged me extra to store my valuables at the front desk because they don’t have safes/ boxes, and they have several signs posted about not leaving valuables in the room when you leave because they’re not liable for theft.

Great view, staff helpful, maid service was accommodating. Late check out a plus, love the view, access to pool and ocean. Does need some TLC, but they seem to be working on it. Norky at bar was wonderful!! AC great. For the price I would stay there again.
