Pros: the beach is very nice, easy to use snorkel equipment, staff were friendly.
Cons: they advertise fitness room which is 2 terrible old ellipticals and some 3 pound weights. The food is pretty much the same thing everyday and not that good. The beds are tiny, maybe smaller than a full. Air conditioning in the room was loud and didn’t work well.

The staff was very friendly, helpful, made us feel like it was our home during our stay. The food was great and the facility was clean! Definitely will go back! I highly recommend El Cid La Ceiba Beach Cozumel.

This is our 2nd time at this resort. The location is amazing and we loved the pier pickup for diving. The staff is friendly and attentive!
I would suggest if your room has an odor request a new one immediately. The first few days it wasn’t bad, but halfway through the trip we noticed our room had a really unpleasant odor. To be fair to the resort we did not report it, and we spent most of our time at the beach not in our room. However on our flight home we noticed the clothes we were wearing smelled like the room. When we got home, all of our belongings were permeated with the unpleasant smell. We have been home 5 days and still cannot get the odor out—it especially lingers in spandex material, ie bathing suits and workout clothes. Our luggage has been sitting outside for 5 days in an attempt to air the smell out and after soaking our clothes in an odor removal solution for 24 hours and multiple washings, many of our clothing items still have the odor, and most likely will need to be replaced. It’s been impossible to get out of silicone—watch bands, AirPod cases, etc and we have had to replace them.
So great trip but bummed about the effects the smell has had on our belongings.

Small resort, so it was perfect just to relax on the beach. The staff went out of its way to make you comfortable. The buffet on the beach was incredible.
