Designed to look like a network of ancient Roman streets, the layout and features of this shopping mall are an attraction in their own right. The two central piazzas are adorned with Romanesque fountains, replicas of the Trevi and Triton fountains, and classical statues are dotted among the elaborate columns and arches. The finishing touch is the Forum’s ceiling, which has been decorated to simulate the Roman sky.
The 160 shops offer some of the best retail therapy going. For a spot of luxury shopping, browse designers such as Versace, Dolce and Gabbana and Louis Vuitton. You’ll also find popular high-street shops like Gap, Guess, Nike and H&M.
If you’re not in the mood for spending, the Forum Shops is also has some spectacular free entertainment. Try to get a front-row seat for the Fall of Atlantis, a show which runs every day. Watch this tale of fierce sibling rivalry as its devastating consequences unroll with breath taking roaring flames, wild water effects and flying dragons. The west wing of the building hosts the Festival Fountain Show, where Roman gods are brought to life amidst a dazzling laser and sound display. Check out the amazing 189,270 litre salt water aquarium: walk right up to the glass walls to discover the 300 fish, including stingrays and tropical puffers ready to have their picture taken.
Once you have worked up an appetite, take your pick from the wide range of cafés and restaurants, offering everything from sushi to burgers, gourmet seafood or classic Italian cuisine, and there are also plenty of options to satisfy your sweet tooth.
