I’m honestly not sure why this hotel gets so much hate—I had a pretty good experience. We stayed in a renovated queen tower room and found it spacious, with plenty of counter space in the bathroom and a nice-sized mini fridge. The room didn’t have any cigarette smell either, which was a big plus. I’d definitely stay here again, especially because the location was so convenient. Having a small shopping mall and food court right across the street made things even better.

The Excalibur has laid off most of the front desk staff to institute a kiosk check-in system with a “guard” staff person who rations access to the line for front desk counter. Their “digital concierge” was totally useless and was DEFINITELY not AI driven. Without a better way to get information (human chat or a more functional AI bot) their “no human contact” approach was frustrating and confusing. There were some exceptional staff people attempting to provide proper customer service, but clearly facing burnout under the pressure of a dysfunctional and understaffed system. A badly thought out attempt to make higher profit without understanding the value of human contact and human intelligence. The room was very clean and the housekeeping staff was friendly and helpful. Their system for prepaid parking via room key was broken - I replaced my card key three times and each time was assured the cards were activated- they never worked at the garage gate. I gave up and had to press call button and give my info to garage security every time I went out of the garage. That said, I was able to park at other MGM properties by giving them my room information. One daily fee for parking at all MGM properties was a plus. .

Everything was Extremely pricey. A glass of wine was $14 and a beer was $8. We had w burgers , 2 fries and w drinks at Johnny Rockets and it was $85. Machines didnt pay very well. Location is good. Beds were good and room was clean.

We had a very nice stay. The rooms are older but the bed was fantastic, wished I could have packed the pillows to come home lol. Where they lack is finding someone to help you navigate where to go & what to do. When you thought you found someone it turned out to be someone selling time shares. I did not book my trip which was a surprise for my mom as her Christmas gift, to get trapped into a time share. They hound you & walk right in front of you. The other thing is my mom is celiac (gluten free) No where is there anything for her to eat. Others we met had the same issue. Note that this was every where not just the hotel. People acted like they never heard of it before. We didn’t make it to the pool but heard it was amazing. The restaurant Dick’s had the best breakfast!

Rooms clean, hotel was clean, what we didn’t like was they no longer have a checking counter you have to use a kiosk, and if you’re not from the USA , they never work. After assistance because the machine didn’t work we waited 30 mins for a key . This was at 730pm the hotel knew we booked rooms and still after getting help our rooms were still not ready so instead of the king room we booked it was 2 queens . If check in is at 4 and it’s three and a half hours later why wasn’t the room ready as promised? Just asking

Overall it was a convenient stay. Staff kept our rooms tidy daily and we appreciate that. It was very accessible to Las Vegas Blvd and connected to the Luxor and Mandalay with a short walk or by tram. The Royal Towers main entryway was not clean at all times and seemed dark. Customers left water bottles, there was some debris blowing around on the floor on a windy day. I walked over to the connected casinos for entertainment and entry was clean and bright. Now the check in kiosks to get printed keys was super easy and a late night change to my reservation was hassle free. One thing I absolutely did not like was the fact the mini refrigerators are rented at a whooping $25 per night. Id like to believe that's only in certain rooms but I can't be sure. You can always guarantee the haves and have NOTS are provided different amenities. Was this they case....i don't know but my drinks remained warm my entire stay. While ice machines and small buckets are provided, that's more work than it had to be. But, nonetheless we did enjoy our stay.

The staff was very accomodating. When I checked in I didn't realize I was to use the kiosk. The clerk checked me in anyway & I didn't have to return to the kiosk area. The room was nice & clean & updated. The parking garage was too far away frm the building & would not want to walk alone back & forth at night or early morning. And it was hard getting around the building. Confusing.
