"We stayed on the Coral Level and had a beautiful view of the pool and all of the activities that took place on the Coral side. The main resort was nice but we couldn't be happier that we upgraded to the coral level. Far more relaxed and adult centered. Food and Drink were fantastic and the staff were great. Would certainly consider visiting again. "

"I decided to pick a higher end hotel this time thinking it would exceed my expectations however I was suprised with how bad the customer service is!! Upon arrival staff at the door to the front desk is not friendly nor welcoming. They speak to you as if you are being an inconvenience to them. After check in our room had many broken things- the phone, the shampoo and hand soap dispenser and as it began to get dark cockroaches began to come out. We killed over 10 of them. The room we were in was noisey as it was next to the elevator and a service room. They do not offer concierge service nor food room service. I rented a full size crib from Babyquip and had it delivered to hotel. The hotel refused to take to our room and we had to carry it. After requesting a new room, they moved us to a downgraded room with only 1 bathroom. We were a group of 3 kids and 3 adults so 1 bathroom was not okay. Plus this is one of the main reasons I reserved here. For an entire day of our vacation I dealt with moving rooms 2x and they kept telling us to go back to front desk at 2pm and then 3pm. Such a waisted day of my vacation having to deal with this. They finally did move us rooms to another that was like the one I reserved. The food is bland- no taste. The waiters at the buffet are not friendly. The person seating people at the entrance of the buffet is also very unfriendly. Everytime I'd ask for a high chair they said they would bring and never would. I found myself requesting it numerous "

"Stayed for SB with a group of 5. One of the things I usually look forward to most when visiting Mexico is the hospitality, but here it was very inconsistent. Some staff members were kind and welcoming, while others were incredibly rude. The condition of the resort also needs serious attention. Our fridge didn’t work, the balcony door wouldn’t close which made the room hot and uncomfortable, and the shower door didn’t close properly. There were also only two outlets in the entire room, which is very inconvenient for multiple guests. Several amenities that were advertised were either broken or unavailable. The zipline didn’t work during our stay. The snack bar that was supposed to be restocked daily never existed. The beach bar had no one working there, so it was closed the entire time. Dining was another major issue. Only one restaurant was open for lunch most days. The buffet and restaurants sometimes didn't open on time and the options are more limited than it seems Basic resort operations also seemed poorly managed. Towels at the pool run out by around 10 AM, which is something basic. At breakfast, they also ran out of plates and cups multiple times.One of the elevators was out of service our entire stay. The resort itself feels very run down, and it’s clear that management has a lot of work to do to improve both the facilities and the guest experience. The resort did not live anywhere near the expectations. I would write 10x more if they didn't cap me on characters"

"The property was awesome. Everyone was so amazing. Juan jose the bartender was always on top of getting us drinks. My girlfriend wanted everyone to know you have a amazing employee. The food was top notch. We are so impressed with this hotel we will be staying here again. I do wish they had Mexican food night in the Balam more than once a week. Also, it would be cool if the hot tub was open until 9 pm or 10pm so you could have some relaxing time after dinner. My buddy Caleb said it was the best week of his life at this resort.Great job NYX staff. Keep up the great work. "

"Unobstructed beach/ ocean view"

"Beach full of sargassum. Life guards wouldn't allow us to swim or even wade in the water most days due to concerns with waves. Had to walk down the beach to swim in front of another resort or travel to sister Royal Cancun to use their beach. Treated like second class citizens if you don't join the Holiday Inn Vacation club. Couldn't make reservation in restaurants until day of at 8 am and was then told they are full. Argued with front desk and they found 1 day exception for me. Rooms are clean and food overall pretty good despite trying to sell up charges on almost everything. Thought flags to reserve chairs were ridiculous as this became a competition amongst the seniors citizens on staking out their daily prize location at the beach or pool. Live entertainment was ok but only 3 nights a week and didn't involve kids like other resorts do. Won't plan to go back for another 30 years. Better choices out there if you want fun with your children. "
