The bad: Expect check in to be a sales process to get you to sign up for vacation packages at their family of properties. It was far too pushy and took way to long for us since we were ready to check in to paradise and begin our vacation and "no thank you" didn't seem to resonate. We crashed around 9pm the first night as we were exhausted and around 10pm our room was filled with loud music and singing from the crowds. Our room happened to be above the bar and a live band was on. I called down to the desk and they said it ends in an hour. It was actually 2 hours until it was quiet. Our shower only had cold water as well. Expedia emailed the following morning to ask how check in was. I was honest and reported the issues above.
The good: Instantly after submitting my ratings and comments to Expedia I received a message from Live Aqua in the Expedia app. They were incresibly apologetic and said a new room, on the other side of the resort, would be available in 2 hours and they would assist in the move. Like clockwork the room was ready, Alfredo moved us, the new room was silent and it had hot water in the shower.
The resort is up to date, clean and beautiful!
The staff is incredibly friendly, accommodating, patient with my broken Spanish and most speak perfect English.
We became close with Kenny, and his incredible drinks, at the AKA bar, Wendy with her Spanish coffee station and conversations and Pedro, at the pool, with his amazing service.
5 Stars to Live Aqua!
