Great location
Great location but the house itself needs attention especially kitchen. Cabinets are literally falling apart. There is a sparcity of important items such as kitchen knives, clothes pegs, and mirrors on the wall. Curtains including shower curtian had mould.

Very poor communication from owner
We were travelling around New Zealand from overseas and this was our second stop off. Communication with the owner was non existent and made for a very stressful element of our holiday. Messages to the owner went unanswered and 2 days before our booking I had to contact Vrbo directly as we had no check in details and my messages went unanswered. I was begining to think the booking was a scam, especially as the contact number was not in service. The house itself is in a good location but is looking quite tired. This would have been ok if it was clean and everything worked. The blinds are coated in dust, there was a spider with an established web in the ensuite shower and some of the bed linens, although laundered, had stains on them. As has previously been pointed out, the showers don't drain and the drawer runner for one of the main drawers (as mentioned in a review from March) doesn't work so it takes effort to shut the drawer. There is an abundance of glasses, plates and crockery so really no excuse for having chipped plates and glasses. I'm not sure if the owner has outsourced the cleaning and hasn't visited the property in awhile, but they really need to visit and rectify some of the issues and revise the listing. No bluetooth stereo or DVD player and the back of the TV remote control is broken so falls off when you lift it up. The house needs a deep clean and I would suggest fixing the tumble dryer in place so it doesn't jump and block the washing machine.

Weekend Away
Was clean and the linen was great, beds comfy, fantastic views. Water not draining away quick enough in ensuite shower and top drawer in kitchen broken. Other than those two things, perfect stay.

Beautiful spot
Absolutely beautiful spot with amazing views. Was comfortable but only a few things for feedback.. 1. The shower/bath in the main bathroom was literally like having a shower and bath for your feet at the same time. Took about 10/15mins to drain so everything was just floating for ages. 2. No tea towels. 3. Only 2x toilet rolls for 8 guests. 4. Rug had not been vacuumed. 5. No warning of lawn mower man turning up when we thought we had privacy getting ready and didn't want the noise while we were about to head out to take group photos. Other than that it was a perfect location, easy to get to, simple house with most necessities.

A little disappointing…
A little disappointed overall. Owner sprung a last minute linen charge of $20 per head on us a few days before check-in (apparently in the fine print - not obvious). Shower in main bathroom had blockages and therefore filled up during use which felt unsanitary. Sink in main bathroom also had a small plant or something growing out of it. Small conveniences not provided such as milk (or even long life) and had only 2 teabags in the house for a weekend with 5 people. House was not very clean with cobwebs around the place and a dirty pair of socks (not ours) under one of the tables. Property also a little difficult to find. View however was amazing and good outdoor BBQ area, and house was nice and warm.

Great island base
This is a good sized property able to handle a large number of occupants. It's well decorated and themed throughout. The listing was clear about the limitations of the place (street parking only), and the property manager was clear and responsive. Taken on it's own merits this is an excellent place and I will be looking to book it again in the future.

Shabby but definitely not chic!
The property was very tired and despite being warned about some painting it feels like the owners have a long way to go with the renovation. Not enough comfortable seating indoors or out for the 7 of us. We didn’t mind not being able to park outside the house but the pathway was overgrown and perilous. We have stayed on Waiheke many times and this property is definitely not worth the money we paid.
