Tranquility plus
Away from the business of Waiheke at the peak season yet only a 10 minute walk to Ostend village and the bus to the beaches, this place was perfect for myself and my mum. Jackie and Jan were lovely hosts offering us homemade bread and the beans growing that they had in abundance. Beds fabulously comfortable. We will definitely stay again.

Cute little getaway. Perfect for a few days. Real minor grumbles - theres lots of mozzies (bring mortien and lavender oil), the kettle switch is temperamental and there's no oven. Apart from that we had a great stay.

The bach was so cute! Very neat and tidy and had everything we needed. My Mum who was a kid in the 70s loved all of the retro furnishings and decor, such a neat place to stay! Thanks very much for having us, we hope to visit again in the future

Beautiful styling of this retro bach! Comfortable and very clean. Not in the most scenic part of Waiheke, but if you don't have a car, only a 10-15 minute walk to bus and supermarket and cafes. Good value.

We can’t think of a single way this bach could have been better. We loved it. Very comfortable and well provisioned and close to market, shops, water and bus. And lovely generous hosts. Perfect!

Peaceful retreat
Easy to access, yet off the main road so it was peaceful. It gave us a peaceful rest - just what we needed. Really appreciate the commitment to the environment. Loved the birds. And very quick responses to any questions or needs we had. Thanks very much for hosting us

Everything we needed for a week stay in Waiheke. The beds were comfy and we had everything we needed. The hosts were nice and like the rest of Waiheke, the area was great.

Ideal place to stay for our weekend. Everything we needed Walking distance to Ostend : Saturday farmers market, supermarket, buses (Good bus service on the island) Highlights freshly baked sourdough Saturday morning. Definitely order if you can.

Retro bach
Lovely bach to stay in. Exactly as described and very comfortable! An easy walk way from Ostend village which has a supermarket, a lovely fine foods shop ( best pies ever! ) and an interesting market on Saturday morning. Jan makes sourdough bread on a Saturday we discovered so ordered a loaf. We would recommend everyone who stays - order one ( or two! ) its fabulous!!!!

Fabulous, clean, cosy, lacking nothing. Superb location and host delivered us a fantastic loaf of bread. Great for children, easy and plenty of parking. Lovely outdoor deck table and chairs. We loved this house!

A proper Waiheke bach; clean and in great condition
We really enjoyed our stay in this character property. It was exactly as represented by the description and pictures, and the other reviews we read. The host greeted us on arrival then gave us our privacy during our stay. We made good use of the books and the bbq, and the hooks by the door for hanging togs and towels to dry. Good water pressure in the shower. A charming and spacious bach, and it was lovely and clean. (I read another review where ants were commented on - ants are everywhere on Waiheke.) Only downside is if you're home during the day on a weekday there is some truck noise from the transfer station nearby. Great fish and chip shop nearby in Ostend shops; little unassuming yellow building.

Lovely place close to all locations
This was a lovely place to stay and it was so close to everything. Was a 10-15 minute drive everywhere we wanted to go. The owners of the property Jan and Jackie where wonderful, unfortunately due to a cyclone the power was out for a little while but Jan and Jackie came to check in on us and gave us some candles to light up the house. Only downside was there was a colony of ants by the front door that kept appearing even after we cleaned it.

Perfect bach
Step back in time for a wonderful retro bach experience. Such amazing attention to design details but with all the right modern appliances to make it a very comfortable stay. Loved the books from 60s, 70s in the bookshelves.

Great little retro Bach on Waiheke
Enjoyed our stay, especially making use of the board games available. If travelling around Waiheke via bus be prepared for a little bit of a walk from the bus stop to the Bach.

Wonderful little place

Perfect weekend stay
This little retro Bach is absolutely perfect for 4 for a weekend away. We had a wedding to attend at “The Batch” so the location was great. Lovely and quiet and very comfy, we also loved all the 70s decor. Thank you for having us and we hope to return again sometime.

Wonderful bach, lovely garden
Bach was well equipped, private and convenient. Walked to Ostend—5-10 mins...Used buses to get to beaches snd bigger towns. Fun retro style, very nice owners live on other end of property. Worked at bach, WIFI strong. Owner baked some delicious bread!!! Maps and books very helpful! Make sure you use mosquito rep if you leave windows open all night! Loved the bird songs, and very safe location, so I left windows open all night. Thanks Jan and Jackie!!!
