Perfect, cozy home!
My husband and I stayed here for our honeymoon visit to Rotorua and loved this little home! It was close enough to the main city area but still had a private get away feel! The host is amazing and the home was very clean!! We would definitely stay here again!!

Amazing stay on a peaceful, beautiful property
The perfect spot for our first trip to New Zealand! We decided to spend a couple of nights in Rotorua in between our stays in Auckland and Wellington. Not only was Rotorua a beautiful area, but this property was perfect for our family of four. Cynthia and Joe were welcoming, communicative hosts, the chalet was beautiful and the property was stunning. Our only regret was not being able to stay longer. Thank you!!

Beautiful, tranquil, cozy - awesome stay!
This is the cutest house. The setting on the lake inspired many early morning walks to the lake front for pictures of the sunrise, the black swans and other shore birds. The owners have taken a lot of thought and care to make our stay comfortable and peaceful. We were gifted coffee, a bottle of wine, snacks and everything was there to make our trip easy and comfortable. It was a lovely home, in a magical setting that made day trips easy. If you visit the Rotorua area, stay here. You’ll never want to leave.

Amazing Property
The Gemini is an amazing property!! I’ve been to several countries and stayed in many rental properties. This was a one of a kind! It felt like we were at a resort. There were many on property activities to do from swimming to kayaking. It was nice to have it all included. The owners were great to work with, answered all of our questions and were extremely accommodating. If I ever return to New Zealand, I will definitely stay here!!

Wow! Don't pass this one up!
We've stayed at many, many VRBOs over the years and boy did we feel like we hit the jackpot here. Absolutely gorgeous location and the most charming little house facing the lake. Super clean, comfortable and updated home with everything you could need in a well stocked kitchen. Beautiful pool, gym area and hot tub. We enjoyed taking the kayaks out on the lake very much, that was a big bonus for us. There was also a barbeque/fire pit area available. Owners very friendly and property immaculate. They had a fantastic binder prepared with area attractions, restaurants, property information, etc. Very well thought out. If NZ wasn't so far away from our home in the US we would be back every summer and stay longer!

Amazing place!
Everything was very easy. Joe and Cynthia were fantastic hosts- were there if we needed, but gave us privacy. The lodge was really spacious and had everything you needed, including some very kind welcome gifts. The shared outdoor space was incredible with a beautiful pool, hot tub and views!

Top notch facilities
The property is one of a kind. The pool and spa were essential to keeping everyone entertained, and worn out at the end of the day, also great for soothing sore muscles after a day on the skis. We had a great stay, very clean and tidy chalet, all the comforts of home - Great value.

A GEM on Lake Rotorua
This premium chalet sits on a large gated property with multiple homes. The location is very convenient to many great and must-do activities: Redwoods Tree Walk, Mitai Maori Village, Geothermal wonders (Waimangu Volcanic Valley, Wai-O-Tapu Thermal Wonderland), Huka Falls, Lake Taupo, Skyline Rotorua/luge. You have access to a shared hot tub (although we never had to share) with a beautiful view of the lake. Joe and Cynthia were great hosts. The wine and snacks were highly appreciated! House was remarkably clean, and we would definitely choose to stay here again.

Exactly what we needed.
We enjoyed every detailed of the property. We enjoyed the views and the quietness of the place. Joe and his daughter showed us around upon arrival. We came to rest and relax and that's what we did for 4 days. Spa was a hit, specially in early spring. The property was safe for our 2 children, and they had a blast at the playground onsite. On a side note, we like cooking and we were a bit disappointed to find that the cooking pans had rust. This shouldn't put you off though as I am certain this must be already fixed by now. We will definitely be back !

Gemini Lodge is situated right on the edge of Lake Rotorua. The views from the lodge are amazing, and the mature trees that surround the property added a special feeling and provided homes for many birds! Lovely to wake up the bird song and the rustling of the the wind in the trees.

A Slice of Paradise

Lakeside fun
We had a fantastic three days staying here and made full use of the facilities on offer. The kids loved taking the kayaks out onto the lake, playing basketball and using the pool. A great location for zipling and the luge. The property was clean and tidy with some lovely extra touches such as some food and drinks on arrival, which is always useful when travelling with kids. Would definitely stay again

The hidden gem
Amazing host. Boys enjoyed the pool, hot tub, basketball hoop and playing spotlight with their children. I was able to relax while the boys played outside. Lit the fire pit for the boys too. Awesome stay.

Perfect family holiday
The property was comfortable and clean. Everything one could possibly need was provided. Communication with and support from the owners was excellent. What makes this one stand out above the rest is the location right by the lake as well as the wonderful kid friendly amenities such as the playground, trampoline, hot tub, pool, fire pit and last but not least the friendliest bunny we have ever met.

Wonderful property
Highly recommend this place! We were three friends traveling for a weekend getaway and it was absolutely perfect. Idyllic location by the lake, quiet yet accessible to everything with supermarket and town only a short drive away. We loved the chalet with its beautiful rooms and comfortable bedding. Great amenities, and so many options for outdoors - tables, chairs, the spa cabana (which we spent hours in!), walks along the lake, the pool (freezing at this time of year but beautiful, and perfect for a brisk plunge). Only thing we struggled with was the small couch, with no other lounge furniture. But this was minor overall. Would definitely stay again!

Great replacing lakeside location.
Joe and Cynthia were brilliant hosts ready to help or answer any of our questions. Our only regret is not being able to take the boat trip Joe offered which we had to decline due to problems with our flights. The property is huge with free access to a lovely outside room with excellent spa, exercise machines and gathering space, which looks out on the lake only a few metres away. The accommodation is clean and kitchen well equipped. Any negatives? Not really but we were 4 adults which was fine, although we would have appreciated another comfy chair in the kitchen area when watching a film on the TV late evening - since the sofa was really best for three. (I bought chair down from upstairs). No worries as really the property is all about the brilliant outside space which we loved. We would definitely come back again!

A lovely retreat
We stayed here in July and had a lovely time. I travelled with my mum, daughter and husband and the layout was perfect for us with the two bathrooms and extra toilet too. The bedrooms were comfortable with nice linens. My daughter loved the giant spa in the cabana and the host families animals. The hosts were lovely. We look forward to staying again.

The house was immaculate, and the property was just gorgeous. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay. Thank you so much for sharing your wonderful pool with us - just had to take a dip even though it wasn't really warm enough for it! The double glazing, smart tv, pod coffee machine (with pods provided), and the welcome basket were all icing on the cake! The king size bed was a little too firm for our tastes, but the singles were so comfortable and all the linen was so snuggly. The owners were completely respectful of our privacy, but very warm and welcoming. Thank you for hosting us!!

Absolutely amazing!
We had an absolutely amazing time at Joe's and Cynthia's property last week. What a remarkable place and gracious hosts! The house was absolutely perfect: clean, comfortable and with all the amenities one may need. Cynthia and Joe were so welcoming, we had unrestricted access to the entire property, pool, hot tub, and the lake shore (where every morning you could encounter black swans who gladly swim to the shore to be fed). Joe and Cynthia even welcomed us with a basket full of snacks and a bottle of wine. It was also a great experience for our kids, who enjoyed playing with Samantha, Daniel, Jacob and their doggie Piper – they particularly enjoyed jumping on the trampoline and the bone fire evening with s’mores. The place is worth every penny! Would love to come back again and visit in the future : )

Amazing hospitality, beautiful location
We had the most fabulous stay at Gemini Lodge and our only wish was that it could have been longer. From the moment we arrived the welcome was perfect and the little touches for the kids made them feel special and at ease. Joe, Cynthia and their family provided such a high level of hospitality that we all felt completely at home. The lodge is incredibly comfortable, very well equipped and tastefully decorated. So many little extras, often missing when travelling, were all there including cooking spices, a fully stocked pod coffee machine, dishwasher/washing powder. The lake views, spa pool and swimming pool are stunning and although the swimming pool was a bit chilly at this time of year it was still enjoyed! My eldest daughter felt it was a slice of paradise and now wants to emigrate! We found loads to do to keep us occupied in Rotorua and could have easily spent longer. We loved the Tree walk, the Luge and visiting Eat Street. There was an option to pay to do an exclusive boat trip to visit the hot pools at Lake Rotoiti which was an amazing experience and great fun, Joe was a fabulous host. Would highly recommend staying here and we hope to do so again in the future.

Fantastic experience!!
My husband and I spent two weeks at Gemini Lodge and had an amazing time. Joe and Cynthia are so welcoming and are available if you need anything or have questions. The property is 2 acres of lush beauty and you have free roam of the grounds including the lovely pool, cabana building, and gym. Our rental also had its own private hot tub. The house is equipped with everything you could require and very comfortable. Located in a very quiet neighborhood with great walking either along the lake. Also, close to so many sights and activities. Do not miss hiking the redwood forest nearby. We recommend this house with the highest regard. You will NOT be disappointed.
