"Birthday treat"
We booked a room at the Chester Grosvenor to celebrate my wife's 40th birthday. On arrival we were greeted with a warm welcome and shown to our very spacious and luxurious room. Everything was perfect from the huge bed to the marble bathroom. All the staff were very friendly and couldn't do enough for you. We booked a morning cup of tea each ( as no tea/coffee making facilities in the room ) for the costly price of £5 each!! And asked for it at 9am and it arrived at 8.59 so excellent service again. All in all I would highly recommend a stay here, although expensive as a treat it's worth it.

"Nice hotel, well worth a visit."
This was my first time in a Mercure hotel and I was happy with my overall experience. Check in was quick and straightforward. The lift wasn't working but the receptionist did ask if we would like help with our bags but as we were only on the first floor we declined the offer. The room was very nice. Two single beds as requested, which were fairly springy but I didn't mind that, I found mine comfortable. Nice facilities in the room - a comfy rocking chair, plenty of desk space, good size flat screen tv with plenty of channels, a good hairdryer, a large desk fan which I thought was a nice touch as hotel rooms can sometimes be just too hot! There was also a full length mirror and plenty of hanging space for all our clothes. Bathroom was nice, nothing special but pleasant enough. I slept really well, hotel is in a nice quiet location in what appears to be a nice area of Chester, and only a five minute drive into town. Breakfast the next morning was fantastic! The waitress explained where everything was etc and we had plenty to choose from. Really good value in my opinion. We had a dip in the pool and hot tub after breakfast before we checked out and that was very relaxing! There was also a steam room and sauna but we didn't get to try those. By the time we checked out we felt so refreshed and relaxed we didn't want to go home! Thoroughly recommended!

"Pool and spa stay"
I booked a visit to use the pool and spa while recovering from a back issue. The pool is easy access and the heated lounger was greatly used by myself. Be warned the sauna is quite possibly the hottest ever known to man. I went on a Thursday with my sister and can say the pool area was busy at 3pm but by the time we left at 7pm was almost empty. I could imagine at weekends loungers would be an issue but the facilities are great and being purpose built better than many other hotels. My sister did feel the signage could be more obvious but I had no issues. Food was good and breakfast was all anyone could need or eat

"Ideal location for central Chester"
New Blossoms was a great place to stay, very convenient for shopping, restaurants and bars. Happy Hour cocktails were a bonus. All the staff were helpful and polite. It was particularly nice to be given the low down on Chester in Welsh by the charming Kelly Ann. Always good to find your mother tongue while 'abroad' in England!

"Good hotel, convenient for Manchester airport."
This is a really lovely hotel - it has an intimate atmosphere and is clean and comfortable. I was amazed to find such a charming hotel so close to the airport. We had a view of a small river and trees from our room! I would absolutely choose this hotel again if I needed to stay overnight before or after a flight. Highly recommended.

"Dog owners beware !"
Overnight stay booked 4+ weeks ago, a treat night for my husband & I we booked a deluxe room with special instructions that we were bringing a small, well behaved dog . Hadn't anticipated any issue as the hotel presents itself as "dog friendly". Fast forward to the day of arrival and I receive any email advising we've been downgraded because the hotel does not allow dogs in the Jacobean/Victorian part of the building. ( too late to make alternative arrangements) Hotel staff were brilliant and the food was good but, as the new rooms are generic repetitions of the "Q-Hotel design" we could have been anywhere in the Country so not the "special" and romantic evening as planned.
