My wife and I were recently traveling down the Blue Ridge Parkway and wanted to break up our trip, so we decided to find a B&B in Galax.
Well, we found a great one in The Doctor’s Inn.
When we arrived, Margo greeted us kindly and with a welcoming manner. She made us feel comfortable, almost as comfortable as our room. We learned that the house was built in 1913 and Margo gave us some history of the owners and how they applied their own taste and charm to the house. We stayed in the Stamey Room. There were newspaper and magazine articles in our room about the couple and the influence which the owner’s wife, Brenda, had on the house, and her community in the short time she was there before she passed.
The room was nicely decorated, the bed was comfortable, and the breakfast – Oh my! Margo cooked a Spinach Quiche with a side of bacon and fresh fruit. Delicious! It was nice getting to meet folks from other parts of our fine country.
If you’re looking for a B&B near the Blue Ridge Parkway, take a close look at The Doctor’s Inn. You’ll be glad you did. We were.
