Stayed two nights for business. Enjoyed both nights. Room was clean and spacious. Breakfast had hot items, pool was clean. Would definitely stay again. Walls are a little thin so request room in top floor so you don't hear people above stomping around. Also it's on the corner of Scottsdale Rd and a major freeway so the traffic can be heard from room, especially during rush hours.
We were in Tempe for new student orientation at ASU with our 18 year old son. The hotel is close to the campus and a variety of restaurants. The room, two double beds, was a little cramped for three adults and the bathroom was very small. We were given a room directly behind the elevator, so it was a little noisy. I am guessing that "less desirable" rooms are opened up at a discount, which didn't turn out to be a good deal because of all the extras they tack on. The Expedia price was listed at $120.00 per night, but then they added on resort fees and a charge for the third person.
Hotel has a great breakfast. Staff is great. Rooms are nice and clean. They just need to clean and maintain the pool and pool area a little better. Second time we stayed there and will go back when we are back in Arizona.
From brick-and-mortar Victorian to futuristic glass and steel, the Arizona State University campus runs the gamut of American architecture. One of its jewels is the Grady Gammage Memorial Auditorium, designed by Frank Lloyd Wright. Nearby, Tempe Town Lake is popular for picnics, fishing, and boating. The Tempe Center for the Arts hosts the Tempe Symphony Orchestra, plays, and dance troupes.
