Did not enjoy my stay here for the one night,too many items to mention for disliking the stay. The photo used to promote room online is incorrect. Feel Iike I was in the wrong sister Hotel and given the most rundown room.

We spent two weeks while our family, who had just returned from the UK, were self-isolating at the family home. Given the difficulties of a nation-wide lockdown, the staff could not have done more to make our stay as easy as possible. They were always pleasant and obliging.

We booked Mercure hotel and apartments but when we arrived at around 12.30am, we were asked whether we got the email to advise that we were staying in another hotel. We had to walk to the opposite end of the block in the early hours of the morning. Perhaps due to COVID 19 restrictions, Mercure Abel Tasman reception hadn’t been vacuumed. Acutely aware of need for hygiene in these times, I was a little unsettled. Slight musty smell in the room. Torches in elevator for light. I did like that the bed was comfortable and linen looked clean.

It is in a very central location, allowing guests to walk to many tourist attractions. However, there is no parking at the hotel, so you have to pay an extra $28/day for parking in a garage about a block away. We had to park illegally in a loading zone to off load our luggage when we arrived.

Reception staff were very friendly and welcoming. The staff sent a birthday cake to our room for our daughter which was a lovely surprise

Not a Mercure Hotel, needs reclassification.

This property does not deserve the title “hotel”. Location in the central city is good. Lacks car parking options and the service is less than desirable from the front desk. Was rejected when I asked for a small pot of milk for my breakfast. Only offered milk capsules, which were then not delivered. To top it all off my room wasn’t cleaned at all and had to request to have this done (apology was extended at least). With plenty more options in the city, will not be staying here again. No A/C either

I loved the location. Central, but quiet. The bed was fantastic. Only issue I have is with the sofa. It looked stylish, but it was not comfortable.
