Wanted to like it, but the smell and noise no good
Unfortunately we had a terrible stay at the Kuninga Apartments. Juha met us right on time and was very nice but the smell of the apartment made it unbearable. It is 500+ years old so a little odor is to be expected, but (maybe because of the weather as it was unusually hot) it was rank and really musty and we went into several other building as old that didn’t smell like that. Other reviews said it was quiet and clean. It was not quiet as there was a party outside in the alleyway and we did not/could not close the door/window because of the smell (and when I finally did close them at 2am, we could still hear the party).
Kids were supposed to sleep in the lower floor, but we could barely go down there to shower (the “towels” were basically rags too) so sleeping down there was out.
The location is ideal for old town, however we discovered that Tallin is a party town, at least on a Saturday night in the summer. So if you aren’t planning to hit the bars, you may want to stay a little further away from the heart of old town.
