The guy at the desk tried to weasel out of giving us our Gold Status upgrade. He first said they have no rooms, I said you got 400, and he said the gov closes a portion of them. I then asked him if I could pay to upgrade and he showed me a book of rooms, so I said hey you gotta give me one of them then! He then said that Hotels.com they dont do it that they are Bonvoyage, so I need that to get upgrades. I told him to call hotels.com and work it out with them. He then gave me an upgrade. I dunno, its not up to counter staff to work out whether it is worth it or not for the hotel to participate in Gold Rewards.
Also my Gold perk, the bottle of wine was a $5 CVS half bottle!, I expected a bottle an actual bottle and at least a $15 bottle from a 5 star hotel?
Room was fine. BUT, Im sure they know about it, every time we touched metal we got static zaps, they must have just redone the carpet or something but yeah it was very uncomfortable. Not 5 star.
