A Taste of Costa Rica
This was a most pleasant experience. Check in was super easy and our room had such character. The hotel footprint is lovely. From the colorful exterior, bright and airy breakfast area, open roof area overseeing the city to the beautiful front porch that we could sit and enjoy the weather from. Casa 69 is a very special place. The staff was extremely helpful at breakfast, working with us to contact different tour agencies to get questions answered and also willing to help book excursions with pick up at Casa 69. We met the new owner who was a delight to talk to. He was also very helpful and accommodating when we had some travel plan changes. You won't find a better place to stay when visiting San Jose, Costa Rica!!

Case 69 friendly staff local area lacking
Friendly helpful staff, clean and traditionally decorated rooms. Not much in the way of food or entertainment in area apart for an Irish pub. San Jose is not the jewel of Costa Rica and good as a stopover really.

Spend your money with them or service will be bad
If you don't purchase tours from them you won't get good service, fumigation is need it badly and bring US dollars because breakfast is sold Im US dollars not their local currency! !

Nice, cozy hotel in the heart of San Jose. It's located next to a few fun bars. The only complaints we have are that the shower water didn't stay warm very long.

A small oasis
A little bit out of the central area, but i considered that a positive (and i also found it to be walking distance from downtown). Really helpful staff and unique room. I only stayed a night and left early in the morning for a tour, so can't comment on breakfast.

Spanish speaking staff like Henry, Giovanni, Carla, Carlos, and others helped me with communication for third party contacting within hotel rules as I know only ten words or so for making phone needs known. They aren't concierge per se but can help if you provide numbers. Showers hot, fruit amazing, and fruit juice superb for mixing with protein powder for post dental work needs. Soft bakery bread paired with my foil tuna packets, since I didn't want to go out with fron teeth 2 days?.You need your own phone. Trains go by for 25 seconds several times daily but didn't disturb me, a light sleeper. Guests had the pass code.

Comfortable, Convenient Place to Explore the City
Warm, friendly, and safe, centrally located. Everyone speaks great English, delicious continental breakfast, easy walking distance to city center and museums. Very reasonably priced, and they even did our laundry for a small extra fee! A little piece of home in San Jose.

Great value!
This is a friendly and accommodating place with much received for such a reasonable price. Only the call of Costa Rica's natural environment caused us to move after three nights.
