Te Whare Rangi, a historic Victorian home dating back to 1858, offers a unique retreat with rich heritage. Once home to renowned Nelson photographer William Tyree and former Mayor Edward Everett, it provides stunning views of Haulashore Island, the Boulder Bank, Tasman Bay, Abel Tasman National Park, and the Tasman and Arthur mountain ranges.
Puna Perch, nestled within Te Whare Rangi, is a charming private room located just a short flight of stairs from the main house. This cozy retreat offers a shared bathroom and is equipped with modern comforts, including a Google Home Speaker, a Smart TV with Netflix, and super-fast WiFi with unlimited data. For music enthusiasts, there’s a digital baby grand piano to enjoy. You'll also have access to the shared public areas on the first floor, including the kitchen, living room, balcony and veranda.
You may also be interested in the adjacent Middle Earth, a private room on the first floor that shares a bathroom with Puna Perch; Abel Abode, located on the ground floor with an ensuite bathroom; or the Tasman Suite, also on the ground floor, featuring an ensuite bathroom and kitchenette.
**Special conditions and notes**:

Puna Perch is a separate room located up a short flight of stairs from the main house. It includes a sink in the room and a shared bathroom accessible off the kitchen.
- Young children - This property is not suitable for children under the age of 12. Please enquire before booking.
- Noise in the area - The waterfront road is busy & all properties within this area are subject to some road noise. However, the evenings are typically quiet with much less traffic.
- Car parking - Parking is on-street, nearby and free. We provide recommendations for parking in our arrival details. It is possible to use the driveway during arrival/departure to unload/load bags, but the driveway is steep and does not offer great visibility when exiting so a spotter and extra care is recommended when doing this.
**Payment, Bond/Security Deposit and Cancellation**:
- A 30% deposit secures your stay with the balance due 3 weeks prior to your arrival (full payment will be required if booking within 3 weeks of arrival).
- Three weeks prior to your arrival (or immediately if booking within 3 weeks of arrival), you’ll need to provide a card authority for the bond/security deposit via our secure online check in process.
- Cancel anytime up until 3 weeks prior to arrival for any reason and you’ll pay no more than 30% of the booking total.
- Where compassionate circumstances for cancellation exist, we’ll be happy to look at further flexibility, usually in the form of postponement of your stay, or a credit towards future stay dates.
