Cliffside Falls is an amazing and unique mountain retreat situated on a stone bluff directly above rushing waters and onsite natural cascading waterfalls that were once used to power a gristmill; only 1 hour west of the I-81 corridor and one hour south of the I-68 corridor; spectacular mountain views from all sides of the main house; the location is considered a "dark sky" area that under the right conditions provides for a wide-sky-view of celestial beauty; the perfect spot for that special family reunion or gathering of co-workers, couples, partners or longtime friends; whether it be a reunion, a personal getaway or that long-awaited retreat, Cliffside Falls delivers an awesome secluded location for that special gathering; the main house has 7 bedrooms (8 beds), 2 kitchens and 4 1/2 bathrooms (sleeps 16); or by special request you can add the lower level private suite giving you an 8th bedroom as well as another bathroom and kitchen increasing the sleeping capacity to 18; Cliffside Falls provides the capability of serving meals at multiple dining spaces both indoor and outdoor; enjoy the mesmerizing sounds of cascading waterfalls from decks, porches, balconies and overlooks to include a 360 degree view of the mountains that surround the property; an upper level game room features full size billiards, a pub-style shuffleboard table, arcade-style dome hockey, a classic video arcade table, golden tee golf and a wide screen TV to watch your favorite sports or movie; outside activities include hiking, bird watching, wildlife photography, horseshoe pit, corn-hole toss boards, ladder golf, steel-tip dart board or enjoy private time at the lower patio hot tub with an adjacent outside TV or relax in the upper or lower level hammock areas while taking in sounds of the rushing stream or incredible mountain views; the screened-in porch is a perfect place for reading, relaxing, reflecting or enjoying a meal; places to relax include the hot tub, fire pit area or hike a trail and experience the natural surroundings; this property will make you feel as if your living inside your own private state park without the need to go anywhere; but if a drive is planned there are nearby sites such as trout fishing, canoeing, kayaking (South Branch of the Potomac River) to include the scenic canoe or kayak float through the 7-mile Trough, hiking, golfing, zip-lining, horseback riding, mountain biking, rock climbing or seasonal sports such as at the ski slopes; Cliffside Falls is an ideal location from which to hike, climb, mountain bike or explore the close-by Lost River State Park, George Washington National Forest, Seneca Rocks, Spruce Knob, Canaan Valley, Dolly Sods; take time to read the reviews to learn what others have experienced while staying at Cliffside Falls; Go ahead and plan for that memory maker reunion, that special birthday celebration or that long-awaited private getaway!

Amazingly gorgeous property

Our stay at Cliffside Falls was perfect. The property is well stocked, having almost every necessity you can think of. The view of the mountains is wonderful. The sound of the waterfalls and the stream makes for a peaceful backdrop. We enjoyed our stay immensely, and feel that things can’t be any more perfect for a long weekend away with friends or family.

Mom’s 80th Birthday Bash

The house is AMAZING!! There were 9 of us and we had plenty of space. The kitchen is one of the best stocked I’ve ever seen. We all love to cook, so this was a plus. The view is gorgeous. Rick and Corrine were great. Easy to communicate with and very thoughtful. They left us a gift basket and bottle of champagne to celebrate with. We would definitely stay again.

Our stay was amazing. To start, the communication with Rick was outstanding. He answered all of our questions before arrival and while we were there. All of the amenities they thought about made it so easy. From a fully stocked kitchen, linens, and beach towels. The views from the property were so beautiful. We would definitely book Cliffside Falls again!

We stayed with our extended family and had an incredible time. The hosts have covered every detail imaginable around this property. Great Thanksgiving getaway

Our family had a great time at Cliffside Falls over Thanksgiving. The house was terrific…roomy and clean, with every amenity, a well stocked kitchen and plenty of games and activities for all. The hikes to the falls were amazing and a spectacular sight we will long remember. Rick was also a very welcoming host, and kept us informed all along the way. We would highly recommend and love to return!

Excellent!

Everything was wonderful! The house was in great shape and had many amenities. The views were beautiful. Lots to do on the property, so we didn't need to leave. Our kids enjoyed the game room which also had lots of toys. No complaints!

Beauty all around!

Our stay at Cliffside Falls was very enjoyable! Views of the mountains on one side of the house, and the beauty and soothing sound of the rushing mountain stream and falls on the other side! The house was very clean, kitchen well stocked, comfortable beds, and lots of games, toys, and activities for the whole family!

The owners are fantastic and the property is stunning. With a waterfall right in the back yard and a beautiful view of the mountains, this house is a scenic getaway fantastic for anyone looking for a place to kick back and enjoy. A wonderfully scenic time

I have used this property twice now for a long weekend and have nothing but good thoughts on it. There are plentiful options for entertainment and the kitchen id well supplied with cooking implements. Would and most likely will rent again.

This house and property were beautiful. We had 14 adults and 2 babies. No details were spared. The property is beyond amazing. The hiking was so pretty. We can’t wait to come again.

Beauty and Relaxation

The setting of Cliffside Falls is a gift of nature. The house and grounds exhibit creativity and caring. Corrine and Rick’s anticipation of guest needs is amazing. The property inside and out had whatever was needed to make our stay pleasant and relaxing with just the right mix of thoughtfulness.

A beautiful location for a group gathering

The most spectacular location I've ever had the opportunity to stay - the house literally overlooks rushing waterfalls. The grounds and house are well kept and appointed as you would expect for this price range. Hiking and outdoor opportunities are plentiful and right outside your door. Our reunion group universally loved the stay and we hope to come back soon!

Three generation family vacation

Very therapeutic vacation for those who need to escape the noise of everyday stress and work. We stayed put for the week, made gourmet meals, hiked, went in the hot tub, made fires nightly, built puzzles, and just enjoyed time together. A couple maintenance issues happened, and the owners were very quick to respond! Would highly recommend this property!

Absolutely amazing

We had a group of 13 with ages from babies to grandparents and all had a most wonderful time. The house is beautiful, spacious, clean and completely equipped with just about anything you could ask for. All of the bedrooms were lovely in different ways and beds are extremely comfortable. The views were gorgeous. The outside grounds were as well equipped as the inside of the house, with many chairs, decks, yard games and fire pit with wood provided. Can’t say enough good things about this place!

We booked Cliffside Falls for a couples retreat and it exceeded our expectations. There was no need to leave the property as Rick and Corinne have thought of every detail. The setting is spectacular and the ammenities met every need for those who wanted to be physically active to those who wanted to sit back and relax! We are already planning a return visit!!

Fabulous

The house exceeded our expectations! We had 12 in our party and everyone had their own room! Plenty of space for us all! Hiking to the falls and stream were incredible! We also visited Lost River State Park. Great hiking all around! The owners were very accessible with anything we needed. The kitchens had everything we needed!! Overall a great vacation!

Family Vacation

This beautiful house had ample room for the 16 of us. The kitchen had everything that we needed to prepare our meals every night. We all loved looking at the mountains from all of the decks and from the living room. It was a short drive to town for the pool and grocery stores. This is a house that we all highly recommend and would stay there again if / when we take our Family vacation back to West Virginia.

Wow!!

This place is amazing! The owners are right on top of everything, down to the last detail. They have all amenities covered in the kitchen for any cooking. There is silverware, appliances, and everything you need to make just about any type of meal. Every room is fully decorated to fit the mountain atmosphere. The details and thought put into each room is extraordinary. The views and the outdoor environment is by far the greatest part of the property. Everything was absolutely breathtaking. We will definitely return to visit again. Thank you again for a memorable experience with our family.

Perfect family getaway

This was by far the best mountain home we have stayed in. It was perfect for our large family vacation - with children ranging age 1-10 and 6 adults. It was impeccably clean and stocked with thoughtful care. There was even information about star gazing during our stay, plenty of info about the local area and activities and honestly so much to do on the property we never wanted to leave. The trails and waterfalls on the property are spectacular. This home and the hosts are such gems. We are already hoping to come back soon!
