Great lodge in the beautiful mountains.

Had an awesome stay, right up in the mountains. Staff were great and even shuttled us to the train station and back whenever we needed it. Loved and it would definitely stay again.

We had a wonderful stay at Tanigawa Valley Lodge & Coffee Roastery. The host, Craig, is truly exceptional — friendly, hardworking, and constantly going out of his way to make sure guests feel comfortable and taken care of. The location feels remote in the best possible way, offering a peaceful and authentic Japanese experience surrounded by mountains and nature. And the coffee… wow. Hands down the best coffee we’ve had in Japan. Highly recommended for anyone looking to slow down, relax, and enjoy genuine hospitality.

This was my first time in Gunma and i cant believe how luckily i got with this stay. Nice, relaxing stay plus they had bikes so i could explore the area and really enjoy the country side. I liked too that the bathroom had a window i could open and view the nice scenary while taking a hot shower. The owner is a really kind guy that is there to ensure you are having a good time and is always open for a nice conversation. I will definitely be staying here each time im in Gunma and i recommend it to everyone
