Overnight in Milan

Very comfortable, nicely appointed and convenient. We stayed overnight in Milan prior to flying home from Malpensa. We wanted an apartment for our family of 4 adults close to a train station and in an interesting area.

The apartment was slightly difficult to find initially, probably due to our unfamiliarity with the area. But, after that, we were so pleased with the location and the apartment itself. It was a less than 10 minutes to walk to the metro, 2 minutes to the tram stop, near Park Sempione, less than 15 minutes walk to Chinatown, and in an area that was easy to find a good restaurant (la Valentino around the corner is excellent and the service is superb). One thing to note, the Crai grocery store next to the apt building is permanently closed but there is a Carrefour express within 5 minutes and a Carrefour supermarket within 15 minutes walk. It was clean, stocked with teabags and k cups, towels, etc. Roomy enough for 4 adult family members. 2 minute walk to a great family run bakery, Panificio (try the spinach pastry and whole grain bread). The building security is good. We felt comfortable walking the area at night. The apartment had a table for four, pots, pans, plates, glasses, cups, silverware, and utensils. We prepared a good dinner on our second night easily. The check out instructions said to leave the keys on the table and lock the door, but you can't lock the door without the key, so we pulled shut the outer door as did our neighbors. We stayed during the Milano Cortina Winter Olympics and the price was similar to other times of the year. We appreciated this.

Close to park and easy to access everything

Quiet and nice. Getting in felt a bit like a mystery room. But it was fun and we got in with no problem.
