This is a Japanese Ryokan with a great view and quiet area. They serve a great meal too. I would just say that their hot springs are kinda limited, but if you have a room with your private outdoor bath, it is totally worth it!
I had a 3 days / 2 night half board stay.
We had a great room with a great view of Matsushima Bay.
The room is large with a personal onsen in which we can soak our tired bodies as much and as long as possible.
However, as this is a small hotel, the 3 public onsen is not crowded and you can spent alot of 'me' time enjoying the hot soak.
Beside the good onsen, the food is super great as we had:
- 9 course refined Japanese dinner with fresh sashimi and hot pot
- 7 course refined Japanese breakfast that cannot be found in normal hotel.
Did I not mention that the hotel is also a 5 mins beach walk to areas of attraction?
Overall, this is a great hotel for food, onsen and to explore Matsushima.
The hotel staff greeted us promptly and brought us a complimentary drink. The room was large and clean with a nice view of the bay, but you have to look over the top of the fishing port to enjoy it. We paid extra for half board, so breakfast and dinner were included. The meals were large with more than 5 courses. The food was prepared well and delicious. The onsen areas were clean and had a good supply of bathing products. Parking was provided at no extra cost.
