"The location, way in the mountains, was gorgeous; the innkeepers were hospitable and such nice people. We enjoyed our two-night stay veery much. Two points to make: 1) while the hotel says it’s a B&B, one doesn’t get one unless you request it in advance. The website should make that clear. 2) the place is very difficult to find since there is no sign on Route 299 to lead guests to Monomori Inn on a side road, with the inn being up a little ways. Otherwise, we recommend it highly!"

The wife served the best homemade original recipe Earlgray scone for breakfast and even shared her recipe to the guest. How amazing is that?! The husband even go beyond and explain the weather of the day, gave recommendations on where to eat and where to go for onsen. You will really experience the Japanese omotenashi at its fullest. "Sasaya was easy to find and is a beautiful old ryokan set in lush surrounds. We were personally greeted at the door, given tea and sweets while being checked in and were shown the facilities so we were familiar with where the baths were. Our room was 8 tatami mats with an extra annex, super quiet and very clean, with separate bathroom.
