Black Bear Lodge at Scenic Wolf by Carolina Mornings | Pvt Hot Tub♨️

One of Scenic Wolf's most desirable log cabins, Black Bear Lodge gives guests year-round breathtaking panoramic views of the ski slopes and the beautiful Blue Ridge Mountains. Black Bear Lodge offers features that are unique to Scenic Wolf Cabins: four levels of breathtaking views, a custom Coca-Cola bar, end-of-the-road privacy, extra parking, and a main suite balcony that overlooks the ski slopes. This ridgeline cabin has tons of living space, from the main level open gathering area with a gas fireplace to the bubbly hot tub that offers a million-dollar view from the lower deck. The dining room comfortably seats eight and the well-appointed kitchen features granite countertops and stainless steel appliances. Down one level you'll find an awesome treat in the old-fashioned Coca-Cola bar where your group will enjoy playing on the classic theme with cold sodas and cocktails. The lowest level of Black Bear Lodge offers the perfect setting for spending quality time with friends and family. Enjoy a game of pool, sit back on the wrap-around leather couch, and watch a movie on the huge 60” flat screen HDTV, all by the warming glow from the stone hearth. The sprawling upper level suite features an in-room jetted tub, a comfy rocker for watching TV, and a corner fireplace. A main-level bedroom off the kitchen provides the easiest access, and the lower level third bedroom has full-over-full log bunk beds. If you're coming to the mountains to enjoy the snow, Black Bear Lodge is perfect for you! Being the closest cabin to the slopes, your front door is less than 100 feet from the "Viewfinder" run. Park your car at the cabin and ski-in/ski-out for your entire stay. This is the place! Pull up an Adirondack chair on the newly refinished deck and enjoy a beautiful sunset view at Black Bear Lodge -- you'll already be planning your next chance to visit.

Spring break vacation
We had a wonderful time social distancing in this cabin! (Covid-19)Plenty to do to stay busy and plenty of space for my family of 5. Only issue we ran into was during our stay the weather was A bit cold and allowed for ladybugs to invade the cabin. (Which I read can happen, and is probably an ongoing issue in that cabin) If the cabin got to warm the ladybugs would start to crawl out onto the ceiling. For the adults it wasn’t a huge deal but to my little ones, they were a bit scared of the “bugs”. There were dead ladybugs all over the floor which I had to constantly sweep up. So other then the ladybugs..... it was a great cabin. Big plus was the master loft bed was extra comfy!

California to Carolina
We came from California to explore the beautiful mountains of North Carolina and we were not disappointed! The weather in late September was great. This was a beautiful cabin, perfectly maintained. I was worried it would be smaller than pictured because of the camera angles, but it was just as presented. We had everything we needed for 3 people ... one room for each of us! The fact that it had cable television in the bedrooms was a plus. The road up to the resort is a bit winding but that is to be expected for a ski resort. The only reason I gave a 3-star rating for communication is because I tried to call on our check-out day (Saturday), to inquire about a late check-out, but they were closed. Otherwise, everything was perfect!

Remarkable views
Overall we really did enjoy our time here and the views were out of this world. Cleaning could have been better and I agree with the previous review about crumbs in the sofas. The master bedroom is a little awkward since it’s a loft and open to the living room and has the smallest bathroom of all rooms. I had to shower in the downstairs shower. We really enjoyed the hot tub. The area of the cabin was at the very end of the wolf lodge development and a little creepy. We had a few random trucks pull up and back out once they saw our car. I heard this is a hang out for mars hill college kids when the ski lodge is closed. The overall development looked a little ran down and abandoned. The drive up wasn’t as bad as I read but the roads could use some attention. The drive into Asheville is 45 mins but not a bad drive. We frequent the mtns and the views here were unlike anything I’ve ever experienced.

Beautiful home with stunning views!
This is a lovely spacious home with wonderful views of the mountains. There is plenty of room and could accommodate a large crowd comfortably. Everything was in top working condition. It's very warm and inviting. The beds were extremely comfortable and provided a great night's sleep. You are literally on top of a mountain so its a steep drive to the home but if taken slow, is no problem at all. This home is a stone's throw from the ski lift and a short drive into town. It is very well maintained. We had no prblems with wi-fi signals during our stay. We enjoyed the fireplaces, grill and pool table while we were there. It's absolutely the nicest home we've ever rented. We'll definitely be back!

Great place to stay! Thank you for sharing. Only issue we had was a slight lack of cleanliness. There were crumbs all through the couches and floors.
