Kairakau Hideaway close to beach!

  • Kairakau Beach, fifty minutes from Hastings, thirty-five minutes to local shops and twenty minutes to the country pub. This is the ultimate getaway. Small sandy beach, suited to families, with a stunning backdrop of rocky hills. The community tennis court, estuary, and safe streets make it perfect for kids to do their own thing. Bring the boat and fishing rods. Plenty of native bush to encourage bird song and a sense of getting away from it all.

We had a wonderful weekend at Kairakau Hideaway. It was a girls trip with high school friends and the place was perfect. We enjoyed meals on the deck, a terrible game of tennis and walks on the beach. We look forward to coming back again next year!

A very Tidy Bach, moments walk from the stunning beach, nestled right in against the hill side rising to the red stained basalt cliffs. Idyllically quiet hideaway, ideal for rest and relaxation. Host is very responsive to visitor's needs. Enjoy a cup of tea / coffee / something harder and read away on the deck, or talk strolls in this little slice of rural Hawkes Bay, just 25 minutes away from civilisation. Also check out the Patangata Tavern, nearby and have a listen to the publican's stories, He was a player for the Hawkes bay Rugby team back in the day. The tavern showcases lovely photo's going back decades so drink in the ambience and enjoy.

Great Long Weekend

Even with crazy winds for a couple of days, there was plenty to do at the bach. Once the wind was gone, just a quick walk to the beach, great place!

This Place is amazing. We loved it here. The beach is just a short walk. The Batch is warm, clean, and comfortable. The view of the rock face/hill behind you is mesmerizing. I am a huge fan of the Monarch Butterfly and the garden is full of them.

Lovely homely batch kept us nice and dry and warm during some horrible weather. Everything we needed and we enjoyed having a very easy to use fireplace! Lorraine was very quick to reply to any questions I had. Would love to go back when the weather is better to enjoy the beach.

Relaxing retreat

This was the ideal location to get away from the hustle and bustle. It was lovely to take winter walks on the beach then come home to a comfy fire with a good book and a glass of something nice!

A very warm host with family that have been connected to Kairakau forever. There is the story of the connection to the beach that goes back well over a century.The bach is a traditional bach, but large for a bach and very comfortable. Peaceful, backing onto bush and a high ridge. Wonderful beach.

Peaceful beach escape

Lovely comfotable property in great setting. Close to beach, backing onto greenery - with the sound of the waves, birdsong, and chirping cicadas, it’s good for the soul!
