The Bear's Den of Flagstaff + Private Hot Tub
Come enjoy the Bear’s Den, a chalet style a frame log cabin that was built two stories above the garage. The cabin is nestled high in the pines and centrally located on the outskirts of Flagstaff right in the middle of it all! There are fun things to do and places to see no matter which direction you go! This cabin has a huge loft area above with both a king and a queen sized bed with a beautiful view of Pumphouse Wash right outside the window. The main floor features a full kitchen, living room with a gas fireplace, bathroom, and second bedroom.
The loft has a cozy reading area while the main floor has a large balcony deck right out the sliding glass door from the living room that over looks Pumphouse Wash. Enjoy your morning coffee out on the deck watching the sun rise and maybe even wildlife also enjoying their breakfast!
The bedroom on the main floor features a log frame bunk bed with a full size bed on bottom and twin on top.
Several amenities are included with your stay at The Bear’s Den. These include a stone gas fireplace, full kitchen, heated tile floor in the bathroom, outdoor gas log fire pit, gas outdoor grill, and a large private 8 person hot tub right outside your door! Very quiet and cozy. 1-2 parking spaces. Max of 2 dogs under 50# each are allowed with a $50 pet fee, please add that fee at the time of booking.
The Bear’s Den is conveniently located to all of the Flagstaff area attractions. Within 30-60 minutes you can visit Sedona, Snow Bowl Ski Resort, Bearizona, Oak Creek Canyon, Williams (Grand Canyon Railway), Lake Mary, Meteor Crater, Lowell Observatory, and downtown Flagstaff. The Grand Canyon south rim is a little over an hour away. Phoenix is less than 2 hours south. We are also less than 10 minutes drive to Pullium Airport in Flagstaff. Rental cars are available at the airport or we can set up arrangements for pickup or drop off. There is a second cabin on site that is completely private from this cabin as we have built a partition wall in the back. The back of the cabin is completely private but there are back neighbors about 200 yards away, despite this the cabin is still cozy, serene, and private

We loved the amenities and hot tub! The railing did not seem very secure, FYI. The owners communicated very well. I wish the big bed was downstairs next to the bathroom. The listing showed a regular coffee maker in the photo but it had a Keurig so we brought the wrong kind of coffee.
We traveled up from Phoenix to escape the heat from the "Valley of the Sun"! We were so fortunate to discover this gem just minutes outside of Flagstaff. The check-in process was smooth as silk, and the host was second to none! The cabin was exactly as pictured and described. The accommodations met all our needs and then some. We were able to enjoy our planned activities during the day, and then return to the cabin for a relaxing evening. We especially loved the firepit and took advantage of star gazing while munching on S'mores! If you want to escape the hustle and bustle of staying in the city and long for a cabin nestled in the pines, this is the place for you and your family!
Excellent location between Flagstaff and Sedona. Dollar General with in a mile for those last minute items. We felt very safe and comfortable in this location. Home owner has this set up that one does not realize it is a shared lot. Very private! The hot tub was put into good use by this group, enjoyed!! Kitchen set up gets one by to make meals. No real oven, (has counter top toaster) no dishwasher, limited cookware. But it gets the job done.We like to cook our meals. Beds extremely soft, but amazing comfortable. The lay out of the living space is open and comfortable. We stayed busy all day on road trips, so the TV not being watching friendly wasn't much of an issue. Its like sitting to close to the screen at a movie theater. Over all for our stay it was a 10 out of 10. I would not hesitate to return, If they approved. :) Friendly family to rent from.

Not what I expected
The location of the home was perfect for day trips to Sedona and the Grand Canyon. As others said, it was cozy and I liked the decorative touches. That said it could really use some detail work and a deep cleaning. There was an unusual smell that we couldn’t place so we kept the windows open. There was popcorn left in the machine which we cleaned out. For the price, and the high ratings, I was expecting something nicer and cleaner. The outside area was quite dirty and full of cobwebs. With the owners living very close next door, I would have expected it to be clean upon arrival. They seem like a lovely family but this listing was not what I expected. There was a note offering to help with our laundry if needed but the machine was broken which wasn’t ideal for us since we are on a cross country trip. It wouldn’t have been a dealbreaker but I would have liked to know ahead of time that the machine was broken and that the families home was so close.
Overall, this is a very nice place but the listing requires updating to accurately portray the "Over-the-Garage" build (pictures did not portray) and also requires maintenance/cleaning that has been noted by other guests in the past. The second stair going to the loft is set too far back and our son fell when going down the stairs the first time, also noted in another review as safety hazard. Numerous loose pavers in the steps that require attention. The amount of dust on the ceiling fans was hard to overlook. There are numerous areas that need minor maintenance that were also hard to overlook during our stay that lowered the feel of quality. Floor and door trim on the first floor is missing yielding an unfinished feel. Washer/dryer not working and were notified & offered assistance but we're not likely to ask other people to do laundry for us. Our list of issues may seem lengthy, this was a nice place to stay showing great decor. We really enjoyed the hot tub and gas fire pit outside. The beds were very comfortable. Host offers excellent communication. The items listed above weren't worth a real-time request for repair. Overall just needs more indepth and long-term maintenance attention. If the maintenance and cleaning listed above was remedied we would consider staying here again.
This was more space than a solo traveler needs but it was a wonderful stay. Very spacious and everything i needed. Hot tub was great. Definitely would stay here again.
We had a lovely two-night stay, and it was absolutely perfect! The place was super clean and beautifully decorated, making it feel so welcoming. We easily found everything we needed, which was a huge plus. Plus, the hot tub was fantastic, and the video game machine was an absolute hit with my nine-year-old. We had a great time!
The Bear’s Den is one the best places we’ve stayed. It’s everything described and more. The hosts are responsive and attentive, the cabin is clean and comfortable. There are games to play and the hot tub is awesome. A must stay!!

Very friendly, responsive owners. Nice little very safe area.
This was a great little property on the middle of everything. We visited the Grand Canyon, Williams, numerous national monuments/petroglyph sites, Sedona and many more. I would recommend this cabin to anyone.
The only negative thing I have to say is that we could not stay longer! The owners were very responsive, the neighbors were friendly, and the location was perfect. Dont pass this property up! Well worth the stay!
