  • This large house is situated on the outskirts of the Timber town of Dwellingup, about 75 minute drive from Perth. Dwellingup is a mecca for Mountain bikers or walkers, and nature lovers. This mid-century house has been renovated and is now a large modernised, spacious home, whilst retaining its mid-century charm.

    Your base line booking provides sleeping arrangements for up to 6 guests in 3 bedrooms. The 4th King Bedroom plus walk-in robe is available for an ADDITIONAL fee, giving you sleeping for up to 8 guests in total. 1 full bathroom with indoor toilet, plus a recently added 2nd separate toilet, a huge gourmet kitchen, 2 living areas to provide more space for larger groups, plus a separate Games Room with Soccer Foosball table, and large covered outdoor deck, barbecue and outdoor gas heater.

    Enjoy watching the birdlife on the cute front veranda, which overlooks State Forest.
    Birdlife abounds in this region.. wrens, robins, cockatoos to name a few. Kangaroos can be seen frequently in the forest. Dwellingup is also a place to relax from the stresses of modern living. The town has a very good café, wineries nearby, a community run hotel and several craft centres. Lane Pool Reserve is nearby for canoeing or paddling and swimming. There is an Outdoor Adventure shop in town where bikes and canoes can be hired, or guided tours can be arranged for cycling and paddling activities.

    The house has Reverse-Cycle Airconditioning throughout, plus a very efficient Evaporative Cooling system for summer. Wintery evenings can be spent beside the cosy log fire.
    There is plenty of space to share with large groups or multigenerational gatherings of up to 8 guests maximum.
    A gas barbecue on a generous back patio with outdoor tables and chairs seating 8 people enhances your stay. There is a well equipped kitchen, with large oven should you wish to cook.
    A Nespresso coffee machine is supplied. If you are a coffee lover you might like to bring your favourite pods.
    The property is fully fenced, and overlooks State forest, on the outskirts of Dwellingup.
    It's advisable to bring your own food. The local IGA has a range of staples.

The property was ideal for our group and well located for the town. The property has a lot of wonderful character and is very spacious - far more space than we were expecting - large living areas and large bedrooms - it also has lovely gardens and a great outdoor eating area. Beautiful house and yard

Such a lovely cottage, 4 good size bedrooms and 2 living areas. Back garden and deck area was great to just sit out there and watch all the different birds that visit. Wood fire was wonderful and there was an abundance of chopped wood. The kitchen was well appointed and a good size. We really enjoyed our stay

Lovely homely stay

Very homely, clean, neat and comfortable. Hosts have gone out of their way to ensure we had all those little unexpected extras making our stay feel extra special. Air conditioners work really well. Lot of information of Dwellingup and surrounding areas. Overall a very pleasant stay.

A perfect family getaway

We are a young family of 4 from Perth. The house was clean, spacious, extremely family friendly and well equipped with everything you need for a perfect family getaway. It has 4 bedrooms and a big gated backyard. It could easily and comfortably accomodate 2 families. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Magnolia Cottage and would love to come back to visit again.

It is clear that the hosts want their guests to be comfortable. We arrived to a roaring fireplace which was such a thoughtful touch, thank you. Similarly, I had bought my own step stool so my children could reach the bathroom sink however I needn't have as there was one provided. The note inviting us to help ourselves to the fresh lemons and limes off the tree made us feel welcome.I scored lower in the cleanliness rating as the bbq was filthy upon our arrival, along with dust and debris under all the beds, there was an item of clothing left under the bed in the room with 2 singles which was a clear indication that the bedrooms hadn't been thoroughly vacuumed i.e. a token vacuum around the furniture only and some crockery/plates had been put away still dirty.
