If you want peace and tranquility then Birdsong Bach is the place for you! For that weekend getaway to relax and unwind, this place is a must. By day you can sit on the deck and listen to the birdlife, explore the local beaches and walking tracks and by night curl up in front of the open fire and look out at the stars.
Set amongst native bush in the small township of Osborne, across the bay from Purakaunui and on the doorstep of the Orokonui Ecosanctuary, our bach is full of old school charm that oozes character.
Our bach has recently undergone a wee makeover, getting a septic tank, which means no more late night trips to the long drop after dark. The bathroom now has a new toilet and shower to make your experience a little bit more luxurious (well it is for us!). The addition of a new woodburner adds to the other heating options of the open fire and a heat pump.
The house is old and quirky, please do not book with us if you want perfection!
The property is surrounded by bush - there are creepy crawlies (spiders, mice etc). We will do our best to ensure that there is nothing in the house when you arrive but there may be times when you'll find something that may need to be disposed of :)
The property is on tank water so please respect the local community and only use water as required.
Please clean up and leave the property as found and strip the sheets and pillowcases off used beds and leave in the bathroom.
Pets are OK but the property is not fenced.
Sky TV is available if you bring your own decoder.
The listing states 4 bedrooms however one of the rooms is open to the kitchen (below the ladder to the upstairs bedroom as shown in the pictures). A curtain can be drawn for privacy.
