Did not deliver and did not remedy
Host ghosted us. VRBO would not make it right even though we had many signs the property was not going to be made available (host did not respond to us or VRBO, phone was disconnected, property no longer available for future rentals, owner did sign into their account yet still never responded). Tried to get VRBO to resolve early in the week prior but they refused to cancel and rebook. This was a very busy weekend and I could see all other properties and hotels disappear as the week went on. Finally the day before checkin, after many hours on the phone and attempted escalation, VRBO agreed to cancel. They DO NOT get you a new place to cover your expected stay rather they book you for one night only. The rest is up to you. Who wants to show up on vacation and try to find a new place when you know most properties are sold out. I do want to thank Michael for escalation support who did try very hard to make it right but was limited by VRBO policy. When things go as planned, VRBO can be great but something goes wrong, it goes very wrong!
