Great stay

Very enjoyable stay. The hosts were welcoming and extremely helpful. Room was spacious and comfortable. The town of Hawkshead is very charming. Would definitely stay here again.

A truly beautiful property. A very comfortable and relaxing stay. The breakfast was fantastic. Really nice touch that you could order a glass or bottle of wine to your room. A bed and breakfast stay with sheer glamour.

We had a great night, in an excellent room, in a brilliant building, with great hosts, slap bang in the middle of beautiful Hawkshead. Very comfortable bed and cracking breakfast. Top B&B

Ivy House was a lovely B &B which exceeded our expectations. The staff were lovely and nothing was too much trouble. Our room was lovely and immaculately presented. My porridge at breakfast was yummy! It is right in the middle of the main High Street and there are gorgeous pubs and shops on the door step. Would stay here again.

We loved our stay at The Ivy. Absolutely spotless and we were leaving early and were able to get breakfast served earlier and exactly what we wanted - porridge & blueberries before a big cycle ride, perfect. The beds are very comfy and it’s in a quiet location. Highly recommend.

Beautiful restoration of an old building with more work to be done on the windows and sills. Lovely, welcoming owners who were very helpful with any of our needs. Breakfast requirements texted the night before and ready for us at the specified time. Comfortable beds and modern bathroom with easy to use shower. Car parking space. What's not to like?

A brief but very pleasant stay! I slept over before a trail marathon the early the next morning in Grizedale Forest. The owners couldn’t have been more helpful. They offered to run me down to the start line, I needed my car, but that was very kind! They supplied me with coffee at 6:15am made my porridge and provided a a take away sausage sarnie which I ate when I finished the race and was like heaven at that point! The room was very clean and comfortable for the night and I had a lovely meal at Billy’s round the corner (4mins walk).

The house itself was very beautiful and impressive with lots of character which suited the old village of Hawkshead. The spiral stairs and semi-circular landing were charming features. The rooms were so very clean and comfortable - with lovely new beds. Clean, fresh and spacious bathroom too - with a powerful shower. The owners gave us a warm welcome and were very friendly and helpful throughout our stay. The breakfast was one of the best I have ever had. Parking was available at the back of the house, which is so useful in a place like Hawkshead. The house is located in the village and all the amenities are a short walk away. In the front forecourt there are seats which in the summer would be a lovely place to sit. Hawkshead is one of the prettiest villages in the Lake District and well situated for touring etc. Overall, a great place to stay !

Check in was easy we were greeted and shown to our room, parking on site is always a bonus. The house is spotlessly clean and stylishly decorated. The room albeit small was comfortable and had everything we required. Breakfast was served in a comfortable dining room and as we had ordered. My vegan breakfast was lovely. The food is hot and freshly cooked and my husband said his poached egg was perfect. Highly recommended . Ideally located for local inns however they book up in advance so I would recommend booking in advance.

We had a nice stay. The owners were very welcoming and friendly. The room was lovely and extremely comfortable, making it easy to relax. Breakfast was excellent. The hotel is set in a charming village, which made the whole experience even more enjoyable. Highly recommended!
