"Nice hotel with character. Very friendly staff"
Had a great stay. Perfectly situated for our needs with great views of the river. Food was excellent and our room was clean and comfortable . Unable to use the room phone as it didn't work so had to go to reception to tell them about this and a drainage smell in the bathroom which thankfully faded before we got back to our room so not a major concern.

Very nicely furnished premier room but a bit small and too much furniture for its size. Breakfast was ok but laid out a bit like a works canteen. Staff very nice and friendly. Lovely location by a lake.

"Better than expected"
We stayed for 2 nights as we attended the Wings and Wheels air show at Old Warden. The hotel has lots of character, very close to the river, plenty of parking, but little road noise. The breakfast was very nice, but if you arrive late you may have to wait whilst they top up. If you don't want your egg scrambled, ask, and they will prepare a different way. We didn't eat our evening meal in the restaurant, but did have a bar meal the second day, which was fine. The staff were very attentive and pleasant. There was a wedding both days, which didn't impact on us, but I think the waiting staff in the bar were newish. They were fine, and obviously eager to please. The room was comfortable, plenty of drawer and wardrobe space. No fridge. Didn't use the shower as we had baths so can't comment on how powerful the shower was. I was glad I took my own toiletries as only a small shampoo, soap and shower gel provided. Water was very, very hot. Room was quite hot so we opened the windows the second night. Being Monday morning we did get a little road noise, but nothing to complain about. Refuse lorry was noisy, but can't really complain about that. I do have a thing about towels. Why is it when I try to save on washing, and hang up my towels, the housekeeping staff insist on replacing them with clean ones? This seems to happen in most hotels, despite having notices asking people to 'help the environment'.

"one night stay"
A lovely hotel in a lovely setting. However, the basic double rooms are very compact. At £135 room only it was a tad expensive when you can get a much bigger room for a lot less at a good Premier Inn! Staff were friendly but failed to inform us about how to exit the car park (you need a code for the barrier). Breakfast was good but again we weren't informed about ordering certain items on the menu (it was a buffet breakfast however, if you wanted an omelette or any other items listed on the breakfast menu you had to order these). Overall a pleasant stay.

Very short as we arrived very late and had an early start but the staff were excellent, and rooms lovely; clean, quiet, comfortable, and extras thought of such as water, toiletries, biscuits etc, make all the difference.

"Nice location in a gorgeous village."
Nothing exceptional, but a good room in a really lovely village. By far the highlight of the stay (I was there 5 nights) was the breakfast which is included. It was amazing, and the guy who served was a really great guy, remembering my preferred order of Full English Breakfast by the second morn.
