"impromptu overnight stop"
I have read the other reviews and I'm sorry that one or two folk haven't enjoyed their stay as much as I did. Basically the place is just like a travelodge, but with friendly, pleasant and welcoming staff. I didn't have any problems at all during my stay but had anything cropped up I'm sure it would have been dealt with quickly and efficiently. Nice place, nice people with a handy 'yanky' style diner next door. Perfect for my needs.

"Ok kip before a morning flight"
Staff were friendly & helpful. Food was adequate but a bit pricey. Room was clean & comfortable, equipped with a kettle. Beds were extremely narrow and light in bathroom flickered constantly - but i was going on holiday and didn't give two hoots!

"A convenient travellers rest"
This hotel is actually better than it looks from the outside. Right beside the motorway it provides a quiet nights rest for a reasonable price. Close to Newport Pagel where there a number of middle to expensive restaurants to choose from or cheap ones there or nearby the hotel that offer acceptable fare.

"One night stay only"
Easy really - everything was excellent. My comments are based on the fact that this is clearly a commercial hotel and was punching at the top of its weight. If I am being picky I would have liked a sachet of de-caff coffee in the room. We were well within the time for having breakfast, but everyone else had been and gone, however we were treated very well, the breakfast was cooked absolutely freshly for us and was delicious.

"Unexpectedly nice"
Lovely Landlady, friendly and knowledgeable. Short drive to Bedford city centre. Breakfast choice was wonderful. it included scrambled eggs- beautiful, homemade marmalade and a little light conversation. Comfortable bed resulted in a good night's sleep. Only one negative for me was no en suite, but in the end it made little difference.

"perfectly fine pub lodgings"
The room was clean and comfortable, and the place seems to have undergone some recent renovation. Very close to Bedford train station and not too far from the bus station. The bathrooms are shared with other people on the same floor, but they were clean and I never saw any other guests. The first night I was in a room that smelled of smoke even though I had asked for non smoking. I asked for a new room the second night and got one that did not smell like smoke, but did have an ashtray in it.

"Decent hotel but dominated by the Hungry Horse Res"
No one on reception on arrival so had to ring for service. Hotel quite noisy even at midnight but not excessive. Room very comfortable and clean and well equipped. Breakfast was excellent. Checkout was haphazard. Receptionist was sitting outside and suggested we leave the room key on the desk and she would sort it out later. Overall, the accommodation was good but the reception arrangements need to be beefed up. We had the impression that the hotel was very much a secondary activity to the restaurant.
