We were very impressed with the price and the appearance/facilities of the hotel, made even better from the experience we had.
We came up for a weekend from Essex and we had a nightmare scenario when our car broke down outside the hotel and we had hours to wait for a tow truck. The situation was made so much more comfortable when the understanding member of staff allowed us to go back to our checked out of room and wait in comfort until the truck arrived hours later at no extra cost.

This was our second stay at this hotel and it didn't disappoint. The hotel is comfortable and the staff are welcoming and friendly. The beds are extremely comfortable. I can recommend the full English breakfast - plentiful and hot! The restaurant next door is also definitely worth a visit.
We stayed here while visiting family, so for us it was just a place to sleep. However it was very nice. Convenient for the M62 so would suit business travellers. There were several parties going on during our stay but we couldn't hear any noise. No elevator to 2nd floor which may be a problem for people with limited mobiity, so request a ground floor room.
Ideal place to stay for exploring Last of the Summer Wine locations
Restaurant has very nice menu with more than generous portions. Perfectly cooked food, nice presentations
Rooms well equipped and very comfortable beds

I use this for a business associate who visits Huddersfield regularly. The best value hotel in Huddersfield. Staff are very professional, location is perfect for working in town and the overall facilities are quite adequate. Rooms are small but for overnight stays that is not a problem. Price/value is the best of the surrounding hotels.

Very welcoming staff. Rooms furnished to an excellent standard. Very comfy visitors lounge and well equipped kitchen for making own snacks and sandwiches. Breakfast cooked to perfection & the special smoked Salmon with scrambled egg on brioche recommended.
We were really impressed with the beer in both the Nook & Taphouse. Both have their own welcoming styles and atmosphere. We ate in the Taphouse & the staff were friendly and attentive and the burgers large and very tasty. We hope to be back for longer next time.
Traveled with my fiancé and 2 young sons (aged 5 & 1). Stayed in room 22 which is an annex (a converted house). Door opens into a Large room with a sofa area (sofa converts to a bed), round a corner into a dressing area, then onto the main bedroom area which has a wet room.
The room was comfortable and clean with lots of space for 2 young children to race around.
We didn't dine here in the evening, as we were at a family wedding elsewhere but the restaurant looked amazing. We did have breakfast and it was fantastic. Lots of choice, cereals, fruit, juices then you order from a menu for your hot food (full English, haddock, salmon, eggs etc), I'd recommend the smoked haddock and poached eggs.
I would definitely stay here again, a great find!
We chose this because of the proximity to the Picturedrome. Since we were last here a new manager has taken over, and the rooms have been redecorated - clean, light and airy. Sadly we picked the days before the Tour de France went through, so traffic was heavy and road closures were being put into place, but the manger let us park our car there for an extra night when we weren't booked in. They also found a spare room for a friend who was in desperate need. For that we are eternally grateful. The staff were friendly, helpful and I would recommend this to anyone. We will be staying there again. Spot on.
