"excellent hotel but did not like the pressure to b"
We were pressured to attend a 1 1/2 hour talk which would have pressured us to buy timeshare or condo. After telling the marketing lady we were not interested, we received a phone call the next day again asking us to attend the talk. Then, two other people asked us to go to the talk!!! Other than that, everything was excellent!!
The hotel staff are exceptional and the property itself -- location, layout, room design -- is high quality. The only negative was the view from the oceanfront rooms: overlooks the HVAC rooftop units of the pool bar and adjacent buildings. Still, a small blip on an otherwise unblemished screen.
We live in Key West and needed a weekend away with our high school son and college age daughter.
We stayed in a beautiful suite overlooking the pool and the intercoastal...ran the beach in the morning, back for a delicious breakfast and enjoyed our day Christmas shopping locally
Dinner Daturday night in the hotel was delicious while the boat parade cruised on by... Can't wait to return!
We manage over 150 properties in Key West and we have returned energized to encourage the same level of excellence in our properties too!
Thanks to all for our terrific experience...

My King room with side suite was perfect. Upgraded, comfortable bed, wifi, view of ocean, clean.
I chose not to have maid service and would you believe, NO KNOCKS ON THE DOOR!!! They listened! I would definately go back to this hotel. The staff were ALL very nice.
We stayed at the Drift Hotel in Nov. 2014. The hotel must have been renovated this summer, everything was like it looked on the pictures of the hotel, big bed, lots of pillows, white blinds, dark floor. Parking was available in front of the hotel. The staff was very kind, always open for a little chat. The hotel is located close to the beach, it's only a short walk. Also, there's a stop for the water taxi closeby. In the evenings, we walked to restaurants and bars in the area. The hotel staff gave us a map with all the important stuff, it was very convenient. The hotel breakfast was similar to the breakfast we received in most other US hotels: A lot of food and drinks came in plastic containers. If the space of the kitchen allows it, it would be great if some of the plastic containers could be replaced with glass in the future, makes the juice taste better :) If in the area again, we'll definitely pick this hotel.
