It was our first time in Budapest. Upon arrival we received a very warm welcome by the hotel staff and checked in very easily. The receptionist was extremely friendly and professional, explained the hotel facilities and offered to help with info around Budapest. We realised that the hotel has 2 sections, 1 is the old style landmark hotel and the 2nd one is a brand new modern building, right behind it. Our room was in the new wing.
The room (362) was very large, clean and nicely decorated. Had a large LCD tv, central heating, a king size bed (even larger than king!!), mini fridge, hair dryer, safe and others. The bathroom is also very big, with a separate room for toilet and bidet. Also a very big bathtub with shower with a semi-transparent glass (excellent idea for couples) not really sure how this would work for any other case! We definitely enjoyed it.
The only minor drawback (if you wish to compare to other luxury hotels in Budapest) is the hotel's location. The area is very lively with lots of pubs and ruin bars close by, however a bit further away from the main city centre (approx 1 mile walking distance). The transportation connection is excellent as the Blaha-Luja tube station is 1min from the hotel and you can always have the option of tram and taxi - which is very cheap. A one day travelcard for all transport means will cost you approx £4.50.
