Very nice stay. The hotel is great, but the staff make it fantastic. This is a small hotel, i think about 10 rooms. Its not fancy, but very pleasant. It sits on a curve of a small road with a river running behind it. There is also a small stream that runs thru the property's gardens. The road has very little traffic. There is a small house right next to the hotel with a roster that added to the local charm. The roster does not speak English because at first, I asked him to not talk so much, but I gave in and enjoyed his early morning greetings. Judi and Robert are the best. Robert is the omelet maker(among other things). Make sure to ask him what the Buddhist said to the omelet maker. He'll enjoy that. Make sure to sit on the veranda at sunset and enjoy the views, the frogs, the fireplace, a cocktail, and a conversation with a guest or staff.
"Fabulous coffee planation and mountain experience"
Beautiful setting on the slope of a mountain, working coffee plantation, wonderful tour and explanation of the coffee business by Caesar (pay additional $35), gourmet restaurant, wonderful and easy hiking trails around the property and nearby into the mountains. No pool but lots to do for 2-3 days.
Met our expectations totally. Enjoyed the view, a short distance from downtown. Breakfast was great. Staff were very helpful with directions even though their English was limited, as was our Spanish. They called to book a tour for us and let us in early when we arrived. Room was clean and nice, good security, was a pretty new place.
The staff is super helpful. We arrived before cheek in time. Left our bags and walk to town until the room was ready. Also, they helped us plan a great day full of activities.
Our room was great. Smelled fresh and we all fitted very comfortable (Me, my husband and 2 kids)
The common area of the hotel is amazing. A river crosses thought the property. I really enjoyed reading next to the river while my kids play pool.
Overall, great for the price!
I stayed for a week with my husband and two daughters. We stayed in the room with a loft. Very comfortable and clean. The hotel is about a mile from town and very convenient. The Rock restaurant next door was excellent. We ate breakfast there most days and dinner twice. Nice large outdoor area with a small table to sit and read at. Our room faced the back which gave us a great view of nature. Two large windows which let in a nice breeze. Only thing I would add would be screens to keep bugs from flying in although, it really wasnt a problem.

This hotel was just what we needed. My husband and I had just spent 5 nights is a hut in Bocas and when we walked into our room at the Downtown Suites we were saying OMG. The room had a large living room, kitchen, bedroom and bathroom. It was very clean and well stocked with amenities. The Wi-Fi was super fast and the hotel is right in downtown. Close to the grocery store, tons of restaurants. We even got to see the flower fair. I would highly recommend this hotel for not only short stays, more importantly longer stays, as it was very comfortable and convenient.
Our family stayed at Las Establos. It was very nice. The view was beautiful. The rooms were very clean and nice. The beds were comfortable. Breakfast was made to order and delicious. They had fruit, water and soda available all day for the guests. Wine and snack foods were available during happy hour and it was very good. The staff was very friendly and helpful. We felt very safe there and left our teenagers there while we went on a coffee tour. I would recommend it highly!!
