"Nice hotel, extremely nice people, very relaxing"
Balconies at the back look out over nice gardens and a small rushing river...perfect sound effect for good sleeping. Everything was aesthetically tasteful, not extravagant but well maintained. The complimentary breakfast was excellent: typically an omelet or eggs prepared to order, arrepa like patties (corn flour based toasted buns) large plate of fresh fruit, coffee juice, etc. Eating on the covered patio with views of the gardens and mountainside was very pleasant.
The hotel is very simple, but charming. Rooms are very clean and very comfortable. There is quite a bit of noise from adjacent rooms, so if you are a light sleeper, you may want to request a cabin. Also, I would suggest requesting a room facing the view. Our rooms (#1-5), faced the parking lot -- which had the amount of ambience you might expect. The rooms facing the valley and forest, have much more spectacular views. Not sure if those cost more. Also, definitely do some walking on the property. Lots of birds and bromeliads. Sadly, hotel staff seemed to know very little about the local wildlife and were not exactly overly eager to help. They were never rude or unkind, but not as friendly as at other places we stayed in Panama. You won't be able to leave for dinners, so know that in advance.
The hotel is nice and is a 10 min walk from downtown Boquette. It is more spa than hotel and while we liked the looks and location , we didn't take full advantage of the spa. It would be a great hotel if you plan on spending a lot of time there, but we just used it to sleep as we did a lot of hiking and exploring.
Spent one night........should have stayed more. The room was large, comfortable and well appointed. The bathroom was huge. Setting the room aside, the facilities were open, spacious and well maintained. There is a very comfortable area adjacent to the restaurant with a fire place that was perfect for sipping wine and mingling with other guests. The food was excellent. The wine list was impressive. The staff was warm and hospitable. Excellent stay. I'd recommend it.

A historic country inn, nestled in the foothills of the Baru volcano, Panamonte Inn and Spa is the perfect base for exploring …More
The staff were really welcoming, letting us check in very early. The main building is lovely with great views of the volcano and surrounding hills. Taxis are cheap into town, although the staff kindly offered us lifts too. The breakfast was good and toiletries/towels changed every day. A great find
From my experience you can never tell what you might actually find until you get there. We were pleasantly surprised by the hotel and would defiantly recommend to others. Breakfast is great, the gardens are amazing and location is close to the town.
