"Wohnen in Familie"

"Nice homestay, good location"
It was in good location for me away from the main busy area but close enough to walk to. Although teba house was on busy road it was like a little paradise enclosed inside with beautiful garden. All the staff were young but very helpful and friendly, always laughing. The rooms are a little rundown for the price but good WiFi and beautiful atmosphere and the rooms were cleaned very well everyday. I would recommend a stay here.

"Great little central homestay"
I booked at Ala's last minute, and was pleasantly surprised at this little gem... I arrived in the evening, and was guided through a series of little footpaths through the rice paddies to Ala's, where I found a little oasis yucked away overlooking the rice paddies. You are only a very short walk from the main street in Ubud, so in a great location, but all the noise and bustle of the main strip is completely blocked out, and you only hear the chorus of frogs in the rice paddies (at night) and the roosters during the day. The room was very clean and with a traditional Balinese feel, no A/C, but a fan is all you need... and I was surprised that despite open windows all day/night, the only visitor I had was an inquisitive gecko. It looked exactly as it was shown in the professional photos. The pool was just big enough for a quick dip to cool off, was very clean and definitely a great place to just hang out by and read a book. The breakfasts were delicious... the green pancake and the banana taco are heaven! For anyone that gives a bad review for Ala's, you should remember that you're only paying 40USD a night, so of course you're not going to have all the high end finishes that you get at a five star hotel, but if you expect those, then you should go book in at a 5 star hotel! Great value for money.

"a place to escape and relax"
I hotel is a small complex with jungle on one side and paddy fields on the other, it's quiet and relaxing. The staff are helpful and their English is good, so communication is excellent. We stayed for 10 days, and enjoyed every minute of it. The only things that can be conceived as a negative was that we had no hot water for one day, and that the towels in the bathroom are small. Breakfast is limited to eggs , pancakes, cheese and ham toasties and fresh fruit. otherwise it was a lovely experience .

"Quiet homestay that is close to everything"
Made, the owner is absolutely gorgeous. She is friendly and very helpful. We stayed for ten nights and it was most enjoyable. The position of the homestay ensures peace and quiet but a few minutes walk will get you right into the heart of Ubub. Ideal location. We were fortunate in that we were served special breakfasts during the festival time. This was what the family ate and we felt privileged to have been included. I think I'm right in saying these meals are only served twice a year so that was a plus for us. It's nice to eat local fare instead of a westernised substitute. Please be aware that this is a homestay and not a resort and as such, you may feel certain facilities are lacking. It is a genuinely nice place to relax, enjoy the sounds that are around you and generally lay back and recharge.
