During summer time a good market is held on Thursdays from 4.30 until 8.30. There was a bar area but the surrounding areas had lots of room for families to put down picnic blankets and enjoy the music, food and friendliness.

I love Taupo and will come back to stay longer next time. Lovely lakeside community with lots of stores and restaurants, marina, swimming and shoreline walk. Base for loads of alpine activities.

Taupo is one of New Zealand"s premier holiday spots. Plenty of restaurants, cafes and shops. The lake is the main attraction. Taupo is just a bit cold in autumn and winter !

"This is such a great place to stay.We keep coming back. Had beautiful lakefront unit for a very reasonable price and there’s a heated pool as well as a tennis court. Plus the extra bonus of being able to use all the Millenium facilities and dining options next door is great. The location is quiet and lakefront walking track is on your doorstep. "
