One of the better hotels to stay at in Taupō. While parts of the property could benefit from a little TLC, the friendly and helpful staff more than made up for it. The amenities were great, and the ample parking was very convenient. The buffet breakfast was outstanding, with a great selection and excellent quality. Overall, a very enjoyable stay, and I'd happily return.

You can definitely see the grandeur of the past - but property is in need of renovation. Good food and service, welcoming reception - but when you get in the room, you feel a bit disappointed. Understandable, the renovation of the resort will come with a price - but it needs one. Having single glazed windows and no heat pump in Winter is mediocre, to say politely. Surely it is a good place in warm season, with perfect location and amenities. Overall pretty good place, but requires work.

The room had lots of ants in it. My husband got bitten the first night by something, This was the first night of our 4 night holiday unfortunately in and out of medical centre and antibiotics. We are home tomorrow and will probably end up in hospital to get drained. The carpet was also very dirty. Apart from this was a a ok hotel.

This would have been glorious 20 years ago… beautiful thermally heated outdoor pools, squash and tennis courts, gym, large grounds…. but as much as amenities are still nice the room we were in was likely last updated in 90’s and barely maintained in recent years. Damp, a light fitting fell out and became a waterfall, rotten beams, broken dryer, etc… although cleaned well the room was disappointing. Staff were lovely although getting through to tell them about the new light water feature was a 30minute wait on the phone. The restaurant was nice but expect fine dining prices for decent pub food.

Check on and out was easy. Beds were comfortable. Carpet was old. We had ants in our bag because we had an apple. There were heaps. Not nice to wake up to. It was also quite noisey. Breakfast was good and my daughter loved the pool. We didn’t have time to use the spa or sauna but they looked nice too.

Check-in was smooth, although it was a busy day. Hotel facilities are fine, and heated pools are the highlight. We figured the wall-mounted heater wasn't working, but the room was naturally heated due to geothermal activities while the outside temperature was below 8 degrees Celsius. Breakfast was quite good and exceeded our expectations. Overall we can recommend the hotel for families travelling with young children, and it's a fair deal during the Easter break.
