"An old building, but a clean, well furnished two-bedroom unit. The location is excellent, even has a direct entrance to Carlsmith Park, great location for snorkeling, with many fish and even turtles, including a very large one that must weigh-in at 200 pounds. All dealings with the host were clear and informative. I enjoyed Hilo and the surrounding sights. Better restaurants than Maui since they need the return business of the locals. I was even able to use my YoutubeTV and AppleTV accounts on the smart TV."

"Location location location! This place was perfect. A beautiful ocean view and sea breeze. It's an easy walk to many cool swim/snorkel areas where we could cool off and watch the sea turtles lounging. Excellent communication with property management throughout our stay. He even gave us many options for things to do/see and places to eat. Most of my pics are just like the ones posted here. The view is spectacular!"

"We stayed 3 nights and enjoyed swimming in the evening with sea turtles, it was amazing. If you like to hike your 15-45 minutes from several waterfalls and amazing sights. Visiting ‘Akaka Falls and Kilauea are a must, we also loved Laupahoehoe Point Beach Park and low key beaches at Kona."
Quiet Hilo Beach Cottage, Prime Location for Beaches, Snorkeling, and Surfing

"We had the most wonderful stay at Robert and Erin’s place in Hilo. Every detail was thoughtful, from the shampoo and conditioner available in each shower, to the snacks, to all the beach equipment, to the fully stocked kitchen, to the washer and dryer. There was nothing we needed that they didn’t have. They were quickly responsive to any questions we had. The house itself was perfect for our family of five - the two adults stayed in the bedroom upstairs, and the three kids shared the bedroom downstairs (and bonus-they had their own bathroom!). The neighborhood is quiet and a very short walk to Richardson’s beach. Carlsmith beach, just a few minutes’ drive away, was our favorite though, because that’s where we got to swim with sea turtles. The location was also ideal for all of our adventures - Punalu’u beach and the volcano national park were two favorites. Were we to visit again, we’d gladly stay in this house again. We were sad to leave it! "

"This was the perfect house for the 4 of us. The location is very close to the park and beaches. The kids enjoyed their private bed and bath. We all very much enjoyed the porch to watch the ocean overlooking the pond with the koi. So relaxing! The owner was also fantastic. Our questions were answered almost immediately! Thank you so much!"
