Close to beach, but not the best area of the beach. Good pool area which gets very busy and crowded. Well maintained and clean. Quiet except if you are near the luau area.

    "Very nice hotel but pricey"
It is very expensive and last trip was the only lodging option. Room very nice but wife and I disappointed no bath tub or jacuzzi just a rather plain shower. King bed was awesome and we loved the comfy pillows. No microwave. Mini fridge was tiny and only a fridge. We brought trays to make big cubes for water bottles but no go. The coffee maker was super compact toy-like. It was not even up to keurig type standard. Only limited condiments like just 1 pack of 1 type of sugar substitute. Just 2 creamers for the room per day. I don't mind paying their fixed $30 per day "resort fee" if the amenities are there. Not too happy about that. The small parking lot fills up which then becomes a hassle to valet, limiting your mobility and vehicle access. Too many kids in the pool area running amok. There was a big human turd sitting in men's bathroom stall floor that had been there a while stinking up the place. Totally disgusting still can't get the sight & smell from brain... Please police the area better. Keep kids out of the adult jacuzzi upstairs. There was flagrant violation. Food and drink is too expensive, please work on prices. Staff very friendly and helpful. The 4pm checking is much too late. The courtesy room to wash up in after checking out was greatly appreciated. Much thanks for that, keep that policy up, ditto for some pool privileges after checking out, much appreciated. Grounds are nice, generally clean. Elevators are very slow though. Too much time waiting for them.

We had a wonderful time at this hotel. First time in Maui and location great! Walk to beaches for body surfing & snorkling, hiking and walking trails. Also saw whales from hotel property! Got delicious inexpensive meals at Honolua Market up the street. We would definitely stay here again. Thanks Ritz-Carlton.

"Loved the hotel...will definitely stay again!!"
We loved our stay in Tapa tower. Room was very nice, clean, and up to date. We had a mini fridge but were kind of disappointed that there wasnt a microwave. That was our ONLY complaint! Housekeeping was great, hotel staff - great, activities person- great. Loved the restaurant on the beach, Tropics bar and grill- our favorite! Visited several times. Went to a time share- didnt purchase timeshare but did purchase a package to come back. Cant wait to go again!

The Kahala is still the most fabulous hotel in Hawaii. Service, room size, decor and amenities, attention to guest comfort, food, drinks, shopping - nothing beats the Kahala. Can't wait for our vacation next year.

"One of the best on Waikiki."
When we checked in the desk staff told me I had a room with 2 twin beds. Really? I had requested and PAID for a king bed. The desk staff couldn't find a room with a king bed in the entire hotel. This trip was for my 25th wedding anniversary and I didn't want two twin beds. The staff blamed EXPEDIA for the error and said that although I requested a king bed, it was subject to change because it was only a "request". I checked into my room and immediately called expedia. They contacted the front desk and found me a room with a king bed within minutes. So, who's lying here? I think the hotel.

    "Beautiful hotel in amazing location"
My husband and I stayed at St Regis for three nights and enjoyed every second of our stay. From the moment we arrived, the staff were amazing and extremely welcoming. The hotel is a little older, however it is beautiful and unlike anywhere we'd ever stayed. You feel like you are staying on a deserted island! The scenery is simply indescribable! We ate at the hotel one night and the food was expensive, but delicious. On a tip from some locals, we spent our remaining two nights eating, drinking, and dancing at Tahiti Nui in nearby Hanalei Bay. The food was great and we enjoyed a much more authentic, fun experience than fine dining at the hotel! Can't wait for our next trip back to St Regis!

"Lovely setting, condos cascading down hIll"
Very welcoming and reasonably priced. Our room was spacious, comfortable with great views of gardens and mountains and glimpse of Hanalei bay. The kitchen was well appointed. Staff were just great willing to help with luggage, shopping, directions and always there if you wanted a ride up or down to the beach. The little beach is lovely, great for watching sunset, the surfers, lovely for a swim or snorkel. If you love playing tennis there are plenty of great courts. Pool was picturesque. Lots of lovely birds and the nene. Roosters and chickens too.
