"Great place to stay - just as advertised. While not fancy or luxurious, it is very nice, comfortable and clean and in a spectacular location. Having morning coffee on lanai overlooking the ocean cannot be beat. Probably the best stocked kitchen in rental that we have ever had. Saul is an attentive (in a very good way) host. He provides great welcoming touches, including a bottle of wine and fresh cut flowers."

"Unbelievable access to the wonderful Hilo beach parks all within a mile or 2. We were up and across the street to Richardson Beach Park everyday to see the turtles and the black sand beach in the afternoon. Richard’s house was so comfortable and had everything we needed for the beach and in the house. Loved the tropical views from all the windows and it was so quiet at night (except for the birds and the rain, which were wonderful to hear). Definitely coming back if I am lucky enough to ever...

"We loved the location of this property. Walking across the street to snorkel at Richardson was wonderful. We enjoyed the ocean breezes inside and also spent time outside on the deck with its great view of the ocean. The two cats were welcome (outside!). One night they received a treat of leftover Ono fish from the Hilo Bay Cafe. We now have cat friends for life!"

"The remodel/update of the hotel is nice. The bathroom mirror light fixture is great, your skin looks beautiful and tan. Everything worked, AC/refrigerator/fan. Easy parking, free drinking water and coffee in the lobby. It was enjoyable "

"Our stay at the grand Naniloa was ok. I would say 3 stars. Not 4 and it wouldn't allow me to unclick that 1 star. Staff was great but the only down fall I really hated about staying here is because I feel they did not accommodate the guests parking at their property. Every parking stall in the property was only valid for valet parking which was $25. Can u imagine paying that for everyday of your stay. They make you park across the street in a remote empty parking area where there is low light...

"The Wild Ginger offers the true big island lodging experience. Staff is young, very friendly and helpful. Rooms are comfortable, clean and have a lovely vintage vibe. Anyone that has something negative to say about this hotel probably shouldn't be visiting this island. This place rocks! Stay Here!"
