1. No bottled water. Instead, the hotel provides you with a jar of water with a lid that is not sealed. So you don't know how old the water is and what kind of water it is. I have never stayed in any hotel that does it. When are asked for a bottled water, they asked you to purchase the bottled water with a price tag.
2. Window view was messy roofs of many lower buildings and they wouldn't change it for you.
3. They refused to let you cancel your stay or give you refund. I booked for 4 nights and had to stick with it.
4. Inconsiderate and low efficient front desk. I arrived at the hotel about 3a.m ish and really wanted a bed asap but the front desk could not find my booking first and then said I could not check in until 3 pm that day. I told him I had no problem paying for that morning but just wanted the process to be faster. It took him about 10 minutes to finally get a room key for me and then I had to wait for another 10 mins to get my luggage delivered.
5. Staff don't speak English well and it was hard to communicate with them. It was very frustrated to have to talk to a few staff on the same problem, because they don't speak good English.
6. When I got a pear from the breakfast, I was told I could only eat it in the cafeteria and it was not allowed to take it away.
The hotel charges like $100 per night, but is too frugal to provide free 2 bottled water a day or a pear!
I will never stay at Fortuna Hanoi Hotel again. Very negative experience.
