Banff Aspen Lodge

Banff Aspen Lodge

10/10 Excellent
"Please note. We booked the basic room, but it is not as advertised, it does not have a private yard/court or balcony. This has been mis-advertised. The hotel manager moved us to new rooms for the 2nd and 3rd nights, and promised to have the wording changed on Hotels.com and Expedia. Apart from that the hotel was great. The staff were friendly and breakfast was nice, although a little bit of a mad rush each morning with all the other guests. Parking is limited, but we didn’t really experience any issues."

"We had an excellent 4 night stay here as a family of five with kids. We were a bit worried about the construction but it wasn’t an issue at all. We stayed in a Lodge Suite and it was very spacious. We loved having two bathrooms although only one had a shower. We really enjoyed the Crave restaurant for breakfast (so much choice and a beautiful space with mountain view). We also went to Crave for their Asian buffet night and it was fantastic. The chef even went out of his way to make an additional vegetarian option for our family (without us even making this request). All of the staff at the hotel were very helpful and it was lovely to be able to ask the front desk questions through WhatsApp. We also really enjoyed the pool after long days out. The hotel is in a perfect location with bow river behind it and a 3 min walk to Banff Ave."

Castle Mountain Chalets

Castle Mountain Chalets

10/10 Excellent
"We truly enjoyed our stay at Castle Mountain chalets. It was very clean and had all the amenities we could need. I love the smell of the handwash, body wash, etc. I would have loved to see it in their shop for purchase. (Speaking of which the shop and gas are far over priced.) We used the kitchen for every meal and the only thing I would say was that the carrot peeler was very dull, Lol. We had a 2 bedroom bungalow and one son even slept on the pull-out in the living room and it was surprisingly comfortable compared to others we've tried. The one warning, that we weren't warned about, is that there is a train that goes by very close by and very regularly at all hours of the day and night. I personally didn't hear them but my husband and one son really struggled with falling and staying asleep. Ear plugs are provided but nobody likes wearing them to sleep. All-in-all we loved our stay and would return."

"Location is great. Room was clean and the bed was comfortable. Staff was friendly and helpful. Though it was spacious we did not care for the layout of the room - bathroom placement with glass doors was a bit awkward. Minor issue in the grand scheme of things. Parking was an additional $18 a night."

"Had an amazing stay here. Staff were super helpful with things we needed with. The room itself was perfect and clean, as well as the bathroom. Showers were really clean and well maintained aswell. The jacuzzi and hot tubs were the highlight of our stay, with amazing views and fireplaces. Parking was really easy and everything was at a nice walking distance, from the gas station, to some restaurants. I would highly recommend to anyone who is planning on staying here, as we had a great time, even if it was only for a few days."
