"Family Vacation with 2 Young Adults"
Family vacation with spouse and 2 young adults (22 &18 yrs old). Hotel is in a great location and the staff were wonderful. All you have to do is ask; nothing is a "big" deal or "hassle" here. The property is large but doesn't feel like it because it's spread out. We were in the back and not the main building which was a very short walk to the beach but we were close to parking/our car. If you want to be closer to the beach, you will need to get an ocean/garden/or cottage view. The ocean view was FABULOUS as long as you're not by the crowded pool. They give you 2 complimentary bottles of water every day which we REALLY appreciated, plus a 3rd available for purchase. The "kiddos" had a separate room but they were right next to us. However, the 2nd day their a/c wasn't working right and the room developed a TERRIBLE odor. Turns out there was food leftover from previous people and the refrigerator stopped working/was leaking. My daughter called the front desk and spoke to the manager. They were at 99.5 occupancy but had an ocean front room left. The manager had them meet her at the front desk and she personally walked them to their room which was quite a walk. She just took care of it without any hassle. What GREAT service! Just this one gesture makes me a Sheraton fan. The pineapple water they had in the lobby each day is also a nice touch. Can't say enough good things about this hotel. We would DEFINATELY recommend!

"Great layover choice"
We had reservations for another hotel as part of an Incentive trip. Getting in late, and lookingfor a clean, less expensive place to stay, we choose this hotel. Rooms had just been renovated and we were not disappointed. Access to the beach is fantastic and with a Coconut Marketplace Foodland and Safeway nearby, stocking up on what was needed for the rest of the week was easy. Great choice!

"All amenities of home & with easy access"
Our room was a 2 br/2ba with fully equipped kitchen. Everything we needed was in the room. We had only minor issues that could easily be resolved, for example, the carafe on the coffee maker, although appeared to be new, was a little short and did not allow the coffee to drip without placing a napkin to lift it to trigger the flow. Location is great, it is close to the airport and harbor. The shower head could use replacing, it's older and sprays out the side and the water/ice dispenser on the fridge stopped working after the first day. For us it was the perfect location when deciding where we wanted to go each day, it was not at one end of the island or the other. Poipu, Hanapepe and even the Canyon weren't long drives. Heading northwest to Haena or Ke'e wasn't too long of a drive either.

Where to Stay in Kauai Island?

Kauai is known as the Garden Island and is the least developed of the eight islands that make up Hawaii. Come to enjoy unspoilt nature and breathe the clean, unpolluted air. Kayak to the waterfall on Wailua River, go snorkelling at Ke’e Beach or Haena Beach Park to discover new underwater worlds, or hike the rainforest on Kalalau Trail. If you are looking for adventure, take to the sky at one of several zipline adventure parks, book a scenic flight over the island, or surf the big waves at Poipu Beach or Hanalei Bay. Spectacular canyons and waterfalls will get you in the right holiday mood in no time, and there are plenty of activities to keep you entertained from sunrise till sunset on Kauai.

    Places to stay

Looking for places to stay on your Kauai holiday? How about a beach resort or boutique hotel? The largest concentration of Kauai accommodation can be found on the Royal Coconut Coast, on the eastern side of the island. Many inexpensive resorts can be found here. Poipu in the south is nicknamed ‘the sunny side of paradise,’ and is equally popular with tourists. Plenty of apartments to rent exist in Princeville on the northern shore.

    Getting there and around

Most visitors to Kauai arrive at Lihue Airport (LIH). You can also fly to Honolulu International Airport (HNL) first, then on to Kauai. The best way to discover the island is with a rental car. While there are shuttle buses to many hotels in Kauai, it is difficult to get to the attractions of the island without a car.

    Book today

Why not book a rental car and accommodation in Kauai right here on Expedia.co.nz today? We will offer you cheap deals on both and always run specials to help you save even more money, cash you could spend on more exciting things like helicopter flights over the island or kitesurfing lessons.
