"The resort was exactly as anticipated."
Beautiful resort with gorgeous views, well-maintained grounds, comfortable, clean guest rooms. The staff was professional and friendly. If you want to escape the congestion of the other side of the island this is the place to be, however, if you plan to do a lot of sightseeing, you may find the location a bit of a drive. I was just slightly disappointed with some of the menu selections and food prices. There was some construction going on in the main lobby, but this was not a problem during our stay. I would absolutely plan to visit again and would recommend this resort to others without hesitation. Unfortunately, we had to depart a day earlier than planned due to the approaching hurricanes.

A very comfortable hotel in the best area of Kaanapali, right next to Black Rock, which is THE spot for snorkeling - turtles, fish, stingrays are all there! Hotel also has a beautiful and spacious pool that's never crowded, with a slide for kids, a warm jacuzzi type pool, a "river" and awesome floating pool beanbags.

    "Excellent family vacation."
We had a wonderful experience. There were so many activities that we did not get to do. The pools were fantastic and the kids had a wonderful time on the slides. The food was excellent. We ate dim sum at the Chinese restaurant and had a tasty meal at the Japanese steak house. The turtles in the lagoon were a cool surprise.

"Great hotel centrally located and lots of amenitie"
The Mariott's King Kamehameha (pronounced Kah May-Ha May-Ha) Kona Beach Hotel is located in the heart of the Kailua-Kona coastline near dozens of shops, restaurants and retailers. The rooms were clean, contemporary, and the service was outstanding. Only two problems: the construction of a pier near the property's beach-front and a hurricane that put a damper on luau festivities for the evening. Not a big deal though, because there were still bars in the area serving drinks. When we discovered a slow leak from our toilet, we notified the front desk; they did the right thing and gave us a room upgrade and comped us breakfast. We appreciated their diligence to make amends for the problem we encountered. The staff were friendly and always greeted you in passing; the hotel offers a restaurant for breakfast, lunch and dinner with standard fare. A pool with a bar right there and a beach-front area with a view of the bay. A separate coffee shop, open daily. A gym, spa and yoga studio are available as well. My girlfriend and I did the yoga class with a great instructor named Melissa. All in all, I wish I could've stayed forever. If/when I go back to the Big island, I'm staying at King Kamehameha again!

"Nice hotel right on the beach"
We arrived Wednesday about 4:00 pm just in time to sign up for the luau, that was good food and great show. The next two days was the hurricane coming and going nothing the hotel could do about that. Still had a good time nice place.
