"The pool was only open the first day of our stay and was closed the rest. Not being able to use the ceiling fan wasn't cool. It was weird that the coffee maker had to be moved to use since it wasn't plugged it and I couldn't reach the socket. The shower was amazing for tall people!"

"We got a corner lower unit that was across from the food trucks. Unit was spacious and clean. Well equipped with all the kitchen amenities although we didn’t cook much. Food trucks was a good alternative from cooking. We ate at the shrimp and the Asian place. Both were great alternatives from cooking especially when on vacation. Had an issue on check in but gave us food vouchers as compensation and then on our 3rd day we had a water leak coming from the ceiling that was fixed right away. Staff responds right away via text for any issues."

Frequently asked questions

What is the best area to stay in Haena?
The best area to stay in Haena is along the Kuhio Highway, particularly around the beaches and parks that line this scenic route.Haena is a small, linear community stretched along the north shore of Kauai, with Kuhio Highway (Route 560) being the main artery. This area is known for its stunning natural beauty, from lush mountains to pristine beaches like Tunnels Beach and Ke'e Beach. Accommodations here are typically vacation rentals, ranging from charming cottages to larger private homes, often located amongst tropical foliage with ocean views. For families, staying near Tunnels Beach (Makua Beach) is an excellent choice. This beach is top for its calm, shallow waters within the reef, making it suitable for children to swim and play. Its clear waters also offer fantastic snorkelling opportunities, allowing families to explore the underwater world together. The proximity to Haena Beach Park also provides easy access to facilities and open space for picnics and relaxing.Couples looking for a more secluded and romantic escape might prefer areas closer to Ke'e Beach, at the very end of Kuhio Highway. This spot offers breathtaking views of the Na Pali Coast and is the gateway to the Kalalau Trail, superb for scenic walks.

You'll still benefit from the excellent weather but might find fewer crowds and slightly better value on accommodation and flights compared to the peak summer months.
