We had a great stay. The room was lovely and spacious. The little private patio area was lovely and sunny to sit out in. The bathroom was great and the shower had good water pressure with hot water.

I don’t know why people rated so low. It’s a little dated but for the price and the area it’s pretty good. Small hot spring pool is basically a private pool. The bed was clean and comfortable and had full kitchen available with cutlery and plates, cups microwave and oven. I would definitely recommend if you are on a budget. Most other hotels in the area are much more expensive. Staff was friendly and made sure everything was satisfactory. It’s not a brand new property but well taken care of.

The motel was clean and the staff were nice. It was a good base to get everywhere we needed (thermal wonderland with lady knox geyser, te puia and town) and was nice and warm. The facilities were good for us, eg. Kitchen and separate room for our 10 month old baby to sleep in. However, the other room didn’t have a heater so it got very cold and we couldn’t actually let her sleep in it! Other than that and a metallic smelling hob, it was a good place to stay!

No milk given to us on arrival, very bad tv reception, air conditioning did not work froze our arse off that night, they tried to fix the aircon, but we ended up with a smelly portable plug-in heater. had to ask for unit to be cleaned on the first day as no one had turned up between 10am and 2pm as indicated on their book in the unit, floor was never vacuumed, thermal spa pool pump did not work water was like a Lukewarm bath and murky (milky color), old bathroom light that did not work had no cover over it, oven was very greasy inside and with a clear sign of old food on inside of glass door which you could clearly see when it was closed, netting curtains were covered in mold.no extraction over cooking elements steam went straight up under the cupboard for plates and cups, no control over the other guest causing excessive noise which police arrived around 1.30am so very little sleep on the last night in which I had a show to attend during the following day then a three- and half-hour drive home that night, so overall a terrible stay,

Better Options for the Price

Stayed in 'The Cottage' and it was quite ordinary. Everything looking worn. Hole in lounge suite. Settee on porch repaired with sticky tape. Sheets appeared clean enough, but the rest of the bedding - duvets & blankets - visible that all needed a good wash and smelt less than fresh. If I was paying a budget price I would expect budget accom, but expected better than this for the price we paid (around A$250 per night). It also appeared that some rooms at the motel are being long-term let to WINZ benefit recipients, which certainly didn't add to the ambience of the place.

Petit hotel tranquille, chambre bien chauffée et propre absolument conforme aux descriptions. Le grand spa avec bulles & eau chaude naturelle utilisable 24h/24 en privé est vraiment un plus . Je reviendrai sans hésiter !

This motel is small but the room was a very good size with kitchenette and private bathroom. Plenty of hot water in the shower. The room was very clean and the young lady in the office is SUPER friendly and helpful. We would definitely stay again nice place, good price. Only suggestion is if you stay during the colder months inquire on how to turn on the heater in the room. It took us a little while to figure out how to turn on the panel heater.

This motel is comfortable though requires a little bit of attention. For example the curtains are a bit worn at the base and the settee, due for replacement according to the owner, was looking very shabby. The bathroom was large and modern. The managers were very pleasant and helpful. It's a short drive to a supermarket and also to the city centre in the opposite direction.
